Note Names to Host

One of the things I love about the RM 5 is the fact that note names show up in some Host's piano rolls like this:

Rich of Synapse Audio is working on adding the ability to show note names in Orion's piano roll. Is showing note names a function of the plugin itself or can a Host force this behaviour? Thanks for your help. Being able to see the names and position of the drum kit samples in the piano roll is a really useful feature and just one of the many reasons why the RM5 is my go to drum vsti. :D

Richy did it, its working in Orion, dont know when he releases this version though :) Its a feature that the plugin MUST support and the host MUST request it, so both needs to do their part, otherwise it would be a no-go.

so far the ones (i tested) that do work:

BFD
GURU
ABL2
JAMSTIX2

ones that dont:

ADM (but will in future)
WUSIKGROOVEBOX (will in future)
GRANITE
PHATBEATZ
ADDICTIVE DRUMS
IL DRUMSYNTH LIVE

And of course RM 5 works. :hihi: It sounds like D-16 group is interested in adding note names to Drumazon and Nepheton especially after Rich gave them some tips. I'm happy that note names for RM5 will show in Orion since it's my number one drum plugin.

I'm using RMV in SONAR 8 and I don't see note names in piano roll, though other drum plugins are correctly recognized and their note names show up in piano roll.

Is there something missing in RMV to complete VST host note name support?

Another SONAR 8 user here. Planning to upgrade to RMV from RMIV, but the note names are quite an important feature for me. The bakers (and Linplug of course!) are a friendly bunch, hopefully this can be fixed? :)

I have Sonar 7 and RMV and the notes show up in the Step Sequencer. I haven't had a chance to see if they appear in the piano roll, though.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Are you using drum maps? Note names don't show here on Step Sequencer in SONAR 8 either (not using drum maps).

Wierd, I'm not seeing note names with the RM V demo in either S7 or S8. :| (or the step sequencer)

I'm not experienced with Sonar at all but there may be some setting that I have selected that allows the note names to show up in the Piano Roll?

Hmn, it should just get picked up automatically if the plugin supports it. Would you be able to take a screenshot? (I believe you btw! :) I'm just curious to know if we're looking at the right area)

I've loaded RMIV and RMV (demo) into Sonar 8 and loaded the "TEG Industrial 16bit" drumkit in each.
Opening the PRV for the RMIV, I get the names okay. RMV doesn't seem to show them (in any octave at all).

Now this is odd... I'm not getting note names for RMV in FL Studio or REAPER either! It's definately selected in RMV->Setup->Note Names.

RMV is refusing to play ball across 3 different hosts on my setup. :( (RM IV showing notes in all 3 though)

To add to the confusion, I cannot see note names with RMV on SONAR 7.02 as well.
