I don't know. It's certainly a very pretty and elegant interface, but it seems to me to really break down on more complex patches. There's no way to figure out what's going on without manually clicking around on a lot of things and scrolling. Zebra2 manages this kind of thing a lot better, I think.
It certainly sounds good though.

It's logical, but inefficient. Modulations are spread all over the place so you can't see very many of them at once. For simpler patches it works well but some of the more complex patches are a mess. Look at the grand piano patch, for instance.Nameless wrote: Seems pretty logical to me, and holy filter! this things makes some nice sounds...
It would be better if the overall plugin window were 2x as big.

I have to agree... I really do love the interface, but I hate having to scroll over all the modules on complex patches.
Having different tabs to click on for each set of parameters (xlfo, envelope generator, etc...) imo would be much nicer.

I don't find complex mod routings (like the grand piano) that hard to trace, but it would be nice all the same to be able to switch the bottom section of the synth between its current form and a more compact and conventional mod matrix (with source, amount, and destination slots, as in Twin 1 -- but without its three fixed pages). Maybe if you click on the background of the modulator pool, the modulation section should switch to a matrix view; then if you clicked on a button in the pool, the section below would switch back to the detailed modulator view and scroll to the module you clicked.kuniklo wrote:It's logical, but inefficient. I would also find it helpful if you could scroll left and right by clicking and dragging from anywhere on the background of the upper audio and lower modulator panels. It's a nuisance to have to scroll from a narrow strip along the left and right edges.

You can also scroll by dragging the little window display on the bar that lists all modules. Its much easier than the side arrows.

I picked it up the bundle a while back when it was on sale, and V2 is really cool, but I really like the simplicity of Simplon, which I still need to purchase. Right now though, I have my eyes/wallet on an American made guitar.ouroboros wrote:yes they do. And just to be clear, I whole-heartedly recommend Volcano 2: it is my favorite effect these days, as well. Simplon is a fast insert, but Volcano2 feels like it can do anything! But this only works for the modulators, not for the audio modules OSC/FILTER/DELAY in the top section -- or am I missing a trick here?elxicano wrote:PaulSC wrote:I don't find complex mod routings (like the grand piano) that hard to trace, but it would be nice all the same to be able to switch the bottom section of the synth between its current form and a more compact and conventional mod matrix (with source, amount, and destination slots, as in Twin 1 -- but without its three fixed pages). Yeah, Simplon for me is a great luxury. If forced to pick, its V2 all the way, but to ahve something so immediate to use with the gorgeous filters is a great perk.

Sorry man, I thought you were talking about scrolling across the modulators. Otherwise I know of no new tricks, but if you've got one, please share!

Not a new trick but a good one:elxicano wrote:I know of no new tricks, but if you've got one, please share!
Load T2 into Chainer and use Chainer's generic editor when the T2 gui gets combersome.

I agree 100%. Beautiful interface, but can easily become frustrating when trying to work quickly with multiple modulation routings. The drag and drop routing helps a lot though. - Orbit-50kuniklo wrote:Modulations are spread all over the place so you can't see very many of them at once. I completely agree and I did tell them my opinion about this during beta testing. Simply having the possibility of renaming the modulation slots would help a lot in "back tracking" presets. Heck, I have no idea myself how that piano preset works! I got lost in it myself.. I just know it "breaks" real easily when tweaking some of the modulations.
The thing is, it's very quick to setup and start creating a complex patch but it's a nightmare to maintain and to trim "the useless crap" away later.
Cheers!
