Yes, this is great! I just saw this thread and thought I'd have a quick look. Now I'm sitting here taking notes! This is very very useful info! The stuff Kim wrote on psychoacoustics is super!!!

And I'm really enjoying "Pipe Dream"! Thanks annode!

Thanks Kim for this great info about this Psychoacoustic theory, it help me with another issue that is how to rotate the sound source around the target in a horizontal orbit ;)

Cheers

Yes :tu:

I also posted in this forum: http://www.cockos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11039

Some interesting ideas there as well, like concentrating on tuning the attack portion of the sound. Or take the opposite stance and bring the rest of the mix more forward, which might work very well in some situations etc.

Both thread worthy reads, I've got hours and hours of experimentation ahead of me. Thank's guy's.
No, that wasn't me.

If you want to emasculate a sound , simply do a wide Q cut from 3-6khz . thats the vicinity where the hump is on the fletcher-munson curves.

Last month's SOS mag (Feb issue) has an article on "Creating a Sense of Depth in your Mixes".
