i dowloaded all of them with firefox 3 on an xp machine, opened and repaired all with winrar, no problem....spacedad wrote:i use

since i know mik of gtg wanted his lost stuff anyways, should i just upload all 53 vsts in one zip?
it is not a problem...i just asked mik on another thread if he wants them.
and SOMETIMES, ya gotta still do the "eidenk trick" after a winrar repair, btw...
usually it wants an even number of 00's at the end.
peace

you need to use firefox to download, and use winrar to open the files...indigocat wrote:I hate that archive (http://web.archive.org/web/20051216001915/http://m iksybrandt.panicnow.net). No matter what browser or downloader I use, the downloads all hang at 99%. Then I try to open the zip and it says "Suck eggs...not a valid zip archive."
which one ya want?
unit one?
hang on...

My workaround for that is to (winzip) go to explore and drag the files out.Presto!indigocat wrote:I hate that archive (http://web.archive.org/web/20051216001915/http://m iksybrandt.panicnow.net). won't always work with winzip tho.
i abandoned winzip for winrar as soon as i realized how many "corrupt" archives i had deleted needlessly

Hello again from uncharacteristically hot Melbourne. Yes P**k, it would be
nice if you could put up your big zip.
I got unit 1, thanks for that, I have a few of these GTG machines, I think I
picked them up from somewhere probably on this thread a few weeks ago.
Thanks Spacemaleparentperson, I usually use Opera and 7-zip, wasn't keen on
Izarc for some reason, I will look at Winrar, stopped using it a while ago. I
tried Opera and Orbit downloader and some annoying browser made by Microsoft,
forget what it's called, full of triumphant ads praising new features that Opera has had for years, not surprised that it didn't work really, par for the course with Microsoft. Yes P**k now that I know you can repair the damn things, I've stuck them in a 'broken' folder instead of throwing them in the dustbin. I'll try WINRAR and if I still don't understand what you mean by the Eidenk trick I'll ask you.
I was playing with a friend's Octopus last night, very impressive. We both had a lot of fun.

playing with octopii sounds like a gas.
if i were an octopus, i could fire my band!!

i am awaiting to see if it is cool with mik, if he is ok with it i will up his entire collection.
for the eidenk trick,
you need a hex editor...
you want hxd:
http://mh-nexus.de/en/
install it, then drag the broken file to the shortcut.
scroll to the bottom of the code.
add a zero...will look like this : 00
sometimes ya may need to add more than one , generally i guess they should be in even numbered pairs.
click save.
try opening the file again.
if the file is a web archived file, odds are it will open right up indigo
good luck mate!!!

Well, P**k, if your octopus was anything like my friend's octopusyou wouldn't need a band. You would be able to do it all yourself, like Venetian Snares or Nurse With Wound.

wow bro, i like that octopus, but damn, i'd need an extra helping of brains to figure out what to do with the thing, and as i'm down to the last few neurons surely by now if the government isn't lieing to me, so i don't think i could afford to squeeze any more info to to the putrescence between my earlobes without losing what ever might already be rattling around that big empty room, indigocat wrote:Well, P**k, if your octopus was anything like my friend's octopusyou wouldn't need a band. Yes, you can put it on KVR, but as a return favor, I'd like some feedback comments from the users.
Cheers,
Andre
