One suggestion : in M/S mode, the "left" channel becomes "mid" signal, that's it ? and "Side" is "right", is that true ? So, would it be possibel to have it written on the GUI, please ?
But it is, isn't it? You can switch between L/R or M/S for the input format (meant for recordings that were already done in M/S mode). So M/S mode assumes the mid signal is on the left channel and the side signal on the right channel.
Is there any particular reason you do your site with Flash? I've always kinda wondered. And is it hard-coded, hand-built Flash or do you keep your content separate (like in an XML file) and dynamically load it in?
A friend of mine coded the original version for me, and he's a flash addict. Didn't think about it that time that I'd have to do the updates myself. But I'm getting better! I haven't looked into using XML in this context so far, might be a nice idea. Thanks!

thanks for this, gonna try the demo and sure i'll buy it if its anything in quality like the EQ's

I buy these things whether I want them or not. The pricing strategy is just too brilliant not to support.

That said, this one does look useful, particularly in Reaper (which doesn't offer much in the way of stereo/width control).

Hi

Some questions if you don't mind and maybe one or two FR :

- So, the plugin itself doesn't process mid/side decoding itself out of a stereo signal ?

- In stereo widening/mid-side processing, is there any DSP voodoo involved, or is it "standard" stuff (i mean : can one mid/side plugin be better than another, like for a compressor, or will any mid/side decoder/processor be the same) ?

- Can you tell which method you used for stereo widening (delaying the signal a bit, or increasing the side signal, etc) ?

- Can your plugin both replace OtiumFX Basslane and Betabugs Moneo ?

- one suggestion : in the "solo matrix" (bottom right on the GUI) : being able to enable 2 slots, so we can listen to the low mid signal and the high side signal together ;

- On the GUI, top left, writing "mid" below the "left" channel, and "side" below the right channel ;

- On the GUI, bottom left : clicking on "high" or "low" would mute it. (I know we can just set the volume to minus infinite, but this way we coudl save the volume settings in order to check quickly, etc). Does it make sense ?

- I made the payment yesterday and haven't received anything yet : am i too impatient ? :D

Thanks !

It does, of course. When an L/R signal enters then the mid and the side signal are calculated internally. When an M/S signal is already present at input this step is left out.

Well, I haven't seen the code of what the others do but I strongly suspect that the differences are not very big...
- Can you tell which method you used for stereo widening (delaying the signal a bit, or increasing the side signal, etc) ?
It all goes via increasing/decreasing the side signal of the two bands.
- Can your plugin both replace OtiumFX Basslane and Betabugs Moneo ?
I would say that StereooeretS is more or less the sum of these two effects (although without the Moneo LP/HP filters on the left and right channel, which might actually be a nice addition for versions 1.x...).
- one suggestion : in the "solo matrix" (bottom right on the GUI) : being able to enable 2 slots, so we can listen to the low mid signal and the high side signal together ;
Good point. Will be done...
- On the GUI, top left, writing "mid" below the "left" channel, and "side" below the right channel ;
That I don't get... could you explain?
- On the GUI, bottom left : clicking on "high" or "low" would mute it. (I know we can just set the volume to minus infinite, but this way we coudl save the volume settings in order to check quickly, etc). Does it make sense ?
Yes, sounds like a reasonable suggestion!
- I made the payment yesterday and haven't received anything yet : am i too impatient ? :D
Could you please PM me the email address you used? If you don't get the email with the link within, say, 10 minutes then something's wrong...
Thanks ![/quote]

Thanks for the explanations and all the stuff.

Well, i mean : the top knob controls the left signal when you are in stereo mode, but if you set the plugin to act in M/S mode, that knob will control the side signal, and not the left channel anymore. Does it make sense, or am i missing something ?

Ever explored the JS plugin folder? There's more stereo control/effects stuff than in any other DAW package, as far as I know. :)

Cheers!

I have, but I can't be bothered with the cryptic names.

Anyway, I'm still more than happy to chuck some money in the direction of this...

Just type "stereo" into the search field in the JS folder. :)

I quite like the "stereofield" plugin myself. It's very handy for all basic mid/side tweaking.

Cheers!

I just got this. I really like this plugin.

+1 on the suggestions so far!

When this is done, what are you working on next!? I love your plugins and can't wait to check out more of your creations!

I think this is the point where this thread points to itself... :D

I installed StereooeretS and it worked great in Reaper (v2.55 on Windows XP SP3) for a few minutes (I was amazed!), then the whole kit n' kaboodle crashed on me (this has never happened with IIEQPro or ColourEQ). Anyone else having Reaper issues?

no, but sometimes with DDMF stuff(its happened with them all i think at some stage)if i load the plugin when the sequencer in live is running the computer freezes with horrible noise and i need to restart live.
