Has anybody had any luck importing the AKAI formatted Optigan sample CD into Sampletank? I have tried a few times, thinking I must just be doing something stupid, but the presets just come up with no sounds and it says they are zero MB big.

Has anybody figured this out by any chance?

Sampletank has proven to be a frustrating program for me. It seems super buggy.

ST is one of the most stable instruments I have, and I've used it for years. I've imported AKAI samples from Spectrasonics titles, as well as from some other companies just fine. The only time I've ever had any problems trying to import AKAI stuff is with multi-velocity layer programs.

And make sure its AKAI S1000 or S3000 format you're importing.

Strange. I have no idea why I've had so many issues with ST. I believe the Optigan CD is AKAI S1000 formatted. I have used it without a problem on my ancient EMU sampler, which I can continue to do, but I was hoping to have easier access to samples through SampleTank, which is a big reason why I bought it.

I have exactly the same problem trying to import into Sampletank some of my Akai 1000/3000 disk. If you have done this successfully can you please tell us how you did it?

Guess I've been lucky. All the AKAI stuff I've ever tried to import has worked fine. Takes forever, but always works. Sorry you're having the trouble, as I've been interested in that Optigan CDR myself. If you don't get it solved, I may have second thoughts. But ST2 has never been buggy at all for me...knock on wood.

Good luck.

Pea Hicks is a friend of mine and we may bring that over to the Infinite Player at some point... just to know.

Just a suggestion in case you have no success importing the Akai CD-Rom: didn't you get along with the original Akai CD-Rom of the Optical Organ Toolkit a CD with a Kontakt version?
On this CD you can find beside the nki files all the waves.
Of course it is quite some work, but maybe better than nothing.
