Hello all this is my first post , so go easy
Just purchased sampletron, loving the sounds and loops , using it inside logic pro.
If i like some of the loops "like Optigan Loops" or "Powerhouse loops" whats the best way to use them in the host sequencer, Im having trouble syncing the loops to the tempo ?
Also some of the loops are harmony based and id like to change the harmony during the loop, would i use the mod wheel for that and program in the changes,
Im used to things like Stylus RMX were everything is locked to your hosts tempo track.
Hope someone can help me out here.
Cheers
Dom

I have SampleTron, but haven't had much time to play with it yet. I just opened it in Sonar & messed around. I can't seem to simply get it to lock to my host's tempo, but you can change the speed of the loops without changing the pitch.Domh333 wrote:Hello all this is my first post , so go easy

On the right side of the panel, check the button next to the word 'synth'. The controls will change. The left-hand control is a mode knob; move it down to the bottom position, 'phrase'. Now you can use the tempo knob to speed up or slow down the loop. Note that you have to do this for each loop in the preset. Not as elegant as locking all the loops to tempo automatically, but it may help. I'll mess around with it some more and see if I can come up with something better.

I forgot to mention that you can't change the harmony in any of the chordal loops. At the moment, there is no software that can do that. The DNA (Direct Note Access) feature in the upcoming Melodyne Editor (http://www.celemony.com/cms/) will let you edit individual notes within a polyphonic audio file, but it still isn't on the market yet. It is worth looking into, I think.

The loops themselves drift a little because they are tape or optical. They don't snap to tempo because they're not sliced. But you can mess with the PSTS mode and shift the tempo independently without affecting the pitch. The best way is to retrigger the loop every bar or 2 in your sequencer and then either adjust the sequencer tempo to match it or the other way around.
If you are looking for cool loops that DO lock to tempo but work in SampleTank then check these out: http://www.esoundz.com/downloads.php?fi ... 8118H28135 ReTank Grooves. They are sliced grooves and you get the midi files to put into your sequencer that plays the slices.
or if you just want to get more loops for Stylus then we have plenty of those too:
