all free synths are rubbish, you need to spend at least $500 to get a pro VST synth, anything less and you are seriously compromising your musicafreshcupofjoe wrote:Hi,

Second the vote for Crystal, because it's capabilities are both broad and deep. Learn that one thoroughly and you'll then be well-prepared to wring the best out of many other synths.

Thanks Kriminal. I heard OnePingOnly was very good, but it doesn't cost $500. Should I get something else? I don't know what to do. Synth1
Crystal
Tascam Continuous Velocity Piano (if you need good piano)
Cygnus
Chimera
TAL U-No-62
Minimogue VA
Outmeal
but i would really recommend you buying Computer Music Magazine - in every issue (5.99 pound) there is great CM Genesis + ~40 other plugins (instruments, effects) - at least few of them are very nice and certainly worth much more than 5.99. Imo it's even worth to subscribe one issue at myfavouritemagazines.co.uk (if you live abroad) - costs around 9 (?) pounds.

Yep, definitely get Computer Music, ZebraCM could easily be a $50+ payware synth .
