Just read this. I have exchanged emails with Tim in the past, heard his music and used his sounds. This is sad news indeed

"I have extremely sad news - Tim passed away yesterday. I received an email this morning from his wife Diane, who told me that he was out hiking, passed out and did not recover. I will remember Tim for his generosity, patience and kindness. Many of you will have corresponded with him, listened to his music or have been inspired by the sounds that he created, many of which he generously gave away. On a personal level, I have fond memories of him showing me the stars in Death Valley.
I'm sure you will join with me in passing on your condolences to his wife and daughter.
He will be greatly missed."

Like many when I saw the title of this topic I was completly speechless. I didn't really know the man, exchange a couple of PM, but from what I know he seems to be a very nice guy. And reading the tons of messages here confirm it. I hope he didn't suffer.
My condolences to his family and friends, R.I.P Tim

Shocking news. I never had any correspondence with him but he was a person who I knew to be a fixture world wide in sound design. I always read his posts because they were always true and to the point without the sarky attitude that has inundated KvR.

Craig,
Thank you for your eloquent reply. Yes, Tim was loved by hundreds, if not thousands of individuals, but none more loved than by his family.
My heart goes out to you and yours on this sad, sad week.
Please feel some inner peace in knowing that his memories and talents will continue on for years to come and indeed left a lasting legacy of music, talent and humanity.
Mike

Shocking and humbling news. I didn't know the man personally and only had the most superficial of correspondence with him. That said, I've long admired and enjoyed his sound design and I'm grateful for his efforts. My sympathy to his family for their loss.
