I have another one of those for Cytomic.djanthonyw wrote:A March 2nd release would be amazing!
Just think, this could be yours tomorrow!

Me too. I have ended up buying quite a few stillwell plugins because of their generous demo philosophy. Their demo's have a nag screen but other than that they are fully functional. I have all of their demos installed and ready to try out in any project if the need fits. If I end up using it in the project then I immediately purchase it.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:The demo method that seems to translate into the most sales with me is the 14-day fully functioning method. I've bought a lot of plugins because they ended up in projects that way.
After that, you could always try the 14 days approach without recall. This way people can hear it without being able to use it in projects. Then after 14 days add a nag screen and have the sound fade out twice a minute.

dude theres a whole world of audio forums outside KVR with similiar morals where developers post all the time. infact theres a discussion over at gearslutz (re cytomic) with andy involved going on right now.SWAN808 wrote:I hate to say it but while I suspect that within KVR (as Angus FX said - who are a self selecting sample of plugin-users)- Stillwell-like demos work because of the freedom of use, positive PR and purchasing from KVR users - I think that outside of KVR users may need more of a nudge to go and pay for the product...after all within KVR we are closely connected to developers and often have more of a relationship and morals around purchasing. I suspect that outsiders with no connection to the plugin community might easily carry on using a Stillwell product without buying for an unlimited amount of time...
I have to admit I am surprised KVRians are so demanding on demo limitations...when you consider how much developers put into plugins, and how much they stand to loose from piracy which can be accessed through demos...I suspect that there are many plugin users outside of KVR that are less scrupulous with their purchasing morals...and I wonder whether that part - that plugin demos are not just made to appease KVR usergroups - is appreciated....
I normally just use a demo to get a quick idea of the plugin capability. I dont see the need to kick up a huge fuss if it has the odd silence or noise...
If I like it and it is priced right - then I'll buy it - simple as.
Im not saying thats how it is - just putting a few ideas out there....
