Just wondering about the status of DW importing sf2.

I had 1.41 installed but the FL and VST versions both showed no interface in FLStudio or minihost. I updated to the latest beta (apparently 1.415 but showing up as 1.414). The VST still shows no interface in other hosts but is fine in FLS. But the real problem is, when I try to open an sf2, no import takes place. Is it meant to work?

Yes, import of sf2 files should work (and does work here). The same goes for the interface.

Are you sure you installed the plugin properly? You didn't move any files to another location than where they were installed?

Absopositively. All I ever do is let the installer do it's thing. TBH I don't use Directwave because it does not seem to import very well if at all, as in the above case. I have long since bought Kontakt, but I thought you might be interested in this issue. I'd offload Directwave if I could but alas.........

It's weird that the VST plugin wouldn't show its GUI when the FL version would, unless you've got an older version of the VST plugin somewhere.

If you feel like trying some more, you could check if all the files in these locations are the same:
1. <your vst folder>\DirectWave
2. <your FL folder>\Plugins\Fruity\Generators\DirectWave

Seems that way, except that the dll in the vst directory is 475kb, as opposed to the FLS folder version which is 474.

What happens if you copy the dll from the FL folder to the VST folder?

The one in the vst directory is called DirectWave VSTi.dll so no overwrite is necessary. All seems to be working in total contradiction to my first post.

Ok, that's good to hear.

I'll check imports again, but it might help if you have links to specific banks that aren't imported correctly.

Well I tried various ones including NS_J-Bass.SF2, SplendidGrand72.sf2 and Yannleo_S100(Close).sf2. Apart from them I am not sure what I've tried. I think these are still available but not sure where.

Appears to work ok. I was able to load the sf2 files mentioned above.
