very simple - malt eats noteon messages on two channels. they're gated by comparators running in opposite polarities from the same lfo.

if both thresholds were at halfway, the lfo would just alternate between the two parts, you can create a mid zone which passes both channels.

two uses.. either a simple call-response use for two generated sequences, or a 2 channel random note gate if you run the lfo at a fast rate.

This is genius (as usual Rur).. I've been testing some rudiment randomizations with hypercyclic with not much luck. Perhaps malt is the key ?

Ok so I like the fact that this is so easy to get working. I'm tested it on some high multiple arp patterns and with a few minor slider adjustments I was able to get it well under control.

Malt gets points for ease of use.

Next going to see how many I can chain together 8)..

:hihi:

I'm having way too much fun with this thing.

I created a setup of several timing oscillating patterns randomly spanning (n)octs. I then split the output signal and sent that one to a vocoder. I then routed the output signal of a communicay I recent intercepted by a Dalek to an envelope follower and set its controller to Malts 2nd Inverted slider. Anyway, basically the voice ends up playing the pattern..

Listen to this..

I was also able to get a more 'structured' sound btw :borg:.

great tool xoxos! Fun, simple, but would be a pain to wire up in my sequencer, thanks :)

no :hihi: i'm xoxos, the paranoid developer :)

i thought de la mancha released an almost identical plug a few months ago but couldn't find it (maybe dlm didn't list it).

i'm flattered, knowing the lengths i've gone to to ensure i never end up wired in anyone's sequencer, i can't say i'm surprised to hear it :hihi:

err, -poor diction on my part. What I meant was that the plugin is very useful because without it, I would have to do lots of crazy routing and automation in my sequencer. Malt makes it much easier to do, so thanks. Sorry for any confusion. :)

The closest thing to Malt that I've found is IPH's midiprobability ;). Another excellent plugin of similar caliber.
