Coroner were a seriously undervalued band. It's a crime, really, that a band can produce 2 or 2 extremely good records and just fly right under the radar...

I wouldn't exactly say they flew under the radar for most thrash fans (like Blind Illusion, Deathrow, and Toxik did), but they sure as hell didn't get the sort of mainstream coverage that Anthrax, Testament, Megadeth, et al. did, and that's quite a shame, considering how impressive their output was. While I think that Grin was a little bit of a letdown compared to the utter perfection that was Mental Vortex, even without their less-than-perfect swansong they had four outstanding albums and a killer demo with Tom G. Warrior from Celtic Frost on vocals, and that ain't nothin' to sneeze at. Three cheers for Switzerland, the country that gave us Coroner, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, and cheese with holes in it!
