If you buy now you will of course qualify for support and future updates. If you didn't then it wouldn't be worth it would it?

I spent a good while running through all my other compressors on a drum bus, and The Glue won hands down every time. Set the ratio to 4:1, attack to 30ms, and the release to .1 or .2 and up the threshold to a decent amount based on the level you're sending it. Then up the filter on the sidechain so that the kick comes through clean, and experiment with both the Range knob and the Peak Clip button. Nothing I have gets such tight, punchy compression on drums.

The other compressors would either choke the kick and/or the snare, or just not compress as deeply. Even the UAD Precision Buss compressor would choke the snare when compared to The Glue, and the difference appears to have been in the Range setting. Range around 50db seems to just be absolute magic on a drum bus. Also, I'm not sure about your monitoring environments, but the low end of the kick just sounds huge with The Glue compared to other compressors.

For the folks who don't like it, are you using it on a drum bus? I can see it not working on every application, but how one could think this falls short on drums is beyond me.

Thanks, that's what I assume (we never know), The Glue sounds good but I'm comparing to Fabfilter Pro-C and PSP MixPressor 2 I'm not sure if I need.

Don't worry about support, Andy has already said that we have full blown licenses, he's just releasing now with the disclaimer of "it may not work perfectly just yet, it's still a beta."

See my post above. Mixpressor2 and Pro-C both didn't do the drum bus anywhere near as well as The Glue, though I could see both having the potential to be better on full mixes. When it comes to full mixes the variable attacks and more gentle sounds you get of those two would probably work better in most scenarios, but on drums man...no contest! The Glue wins that one hands down.

C'mon, try it just once. It's free to try. Just go for it...one time. You know you want to. Mmmm...drum bus. :P

Also frozen buttons in XT2.

Edit: now works.

This compressor sounds REALLY good. On drum and bass tracks it gives perfect punch. Great. It sounds bit better than Rocket. More punchy and naturally.

B is The Glue which is more spongy and less punch

Ive tried to get The Glue to punch like the SSL Duende Mix Buss compressor but it falls short.I got much closer woth the Oxford Dynamics on the powercore.

If I wanted to be Native only then the glue is very good indeed but for me its not up there with the big boys yet.

A is The Glue.
B is the real SSL.

I can't change any parameter via gui in Reaper.

Andy,

is there any chance you (and anyone else) can stick up Audio examples comparing the Glue to other compressors.

If, so please use each compressor on the same source with the same settings (or similar). And I will then post them up on my thread so everyone can hear the differences.

Thanx :0)

tested as suggested on the drum bus and compared to what I had here (only native and nothing expensive)...

loaded.. heard... smiled... ... PalPal transfer initiated ;-)

@Andy: Thanks for your efforts, the fair pricing and good luck with Cytomic, that was an excellent start in my view.

PS: It works fine in Mackie Tracktion 3 so far ( v 1.05)

compared it to the model on my liquid mix and have to say that The Glue isn't that killer. maybe for native a good choice but i stick to my LM :)
