They're both discrete feedback forward FET compressors, so similarities are to be expected. More clarity might be due to the fact that mine is transformerless (no IC opamps either) and also down to the converters used.Shy wrote: Here, mine is similar without any modification. No doubt your modified 1176 can stay clearer at that insane level. Even without any modification, it's still the toughest thing, and it's more of a limiter than compressor. But for anything up until that, I much prefer the 525's character.

So here is what was behind those files: In Test 1 and 2 the order was 1. The Glue, 2. SSL hardware, 3. Sonnox. In Test 3 it was 1. The Glue, 2. SSL hardware.

It isn't a color comp. like 747, actually I find it very clean but it seems to be way more useful for general use then 747.

One interesting thing about The Glue is the different non-linear curves of the three compression ratios. In early development Andy said the he had to spend a while analysing each ratio to capture it's feel (not his exact word, but you get the idea). Simply put each of the three compression ratios is like a different compressor. It's a subtle thing but something that I don't think other compressors consider.
