Yes, as long as you are working on a single track/album/composition at a time and you are in the same physical location together you can run it on as many pcs as you have...
The probem is that we are often not in the same location. we produce on our own and then meet us to create a result of our ideas. so at the end we work on the same track / album ...

so if i understand you right, it is possible to by one Plug for us, am i right ?
I feel the same Physical location as key to the license deal. You can buy a copy and leave it on your main studio machine so everyone can use it there, but when you start splitting up your computers and work remotely then I feel it's unfair to only buy a single copy.

I'm open to being persuaded otherwise on this so please let me know your thoughts. Nothing is set in stone as yet, I just want to come up with a "fair" licensing deal that people won't abuse but lets you get on with work.

...Don't know why he spells it out like that. Bloody coders. :hihi:
It's to stop web bots smapping my email accounts by having plain text mailto links.

Yes, that does make sense. Bloody smart coders. :hihi:
Then you may want to edit out the email address so that his intention is still preserved. 8)
Yes, I suppose so. Although, really, I don't think I've ever seen another business go to this much trouble given that sales and customer service tend to outweigh by a wide margin issues with e-mail harvesting, which will occur anyway just from using e-mail.

i see your point andy, and the price is also very fair. but i if someone can use the plugin in a control and recording room (or what ever ) and two rooms which are not in the same house, but peaploe workin in belong to the same band (group).

i'm glad to pay 3 plugins, but if the license gives me another option, i would use it.

sorry for nooby english, i hope u get the point ;)

btw: 1.0.7 crashes Logic, when i try to remove the plugin from the effect chain ;)

Dunno why but I'm kinda skeptic about internet transactions. Andrew Simper, did you receive my mails?

Most have stay at home / site setups. then the mobile, and the last is at a clients setup which you can deactive after 24hrs.

In many cases it's wise to be skeptical about sending money over the internet, but this guy is a real pro, he's done good work for other companies before and this solo effort has now found its way into many hands without any signs of trouble. I wouldn't worry too much. I imagine with the unprecedented following this plugin has had here and the attention it's getting elsewhere, too, he's a bit swamped with emails - but of course I can't speak for him, and I'm not trying to.

That said, I am anxious for him to turn the placeholder web site into a real web site with info, demonstration, and a shopping cart and online checkout. After hearing Dimi's clips with it I'm thinking hard about getting it. I love the comps in T-Racks 3 Deluxe, and there are some great freebies out there too, so I waffle about whether I want to pay more for another one... but I definitely don't have anything that does this function (T-Racks' comps are more vintage-y, except the Opto-Comp which is really transparent in its function but doesn't have this distinct character to its compression that The Glue does).

Can anyone comment directly on T-Racks 3's comps v. The Glue?

I agree with the above post.

If this were some sort of sketchy site, I wouldn't use my card, but there are two things going for you.

1st. Andy is a real person, who has already taken money and sent out the plugins for it.

2nd. He wants you to use Paypal. You are protected, the seller won't know any CC info or anything, all they get is the money.

Paypal is pretty safe, unless you sell to someone who won't send you your goods (see my first point!)

It's a great compressor, I have tons of 'em, and I like most of them.

One thing I like about The Glue is that it is really easy and simple to dial in the right sound.

Thanks for your words and time Agreed and dusted william, really appreciated. I was not doubting of Andrew's principles and/or sales policy, just was trying to be sure he really got both mails. I've lost mails in the past and I didn't want it to happen again. Sorry if my words were not clear enough before.

I know how you feel about the email thing, sometimes I get paranoid that an email hasn't been received too.

What about the RTAS Version? Is it available yet? If yes, could i buy it yet? :

to quote Andy a few pages back
That ball is in Digidesign's court at the moment, I'm still waiting for the official legal nod to be allowed to release an RTAS version, hopefully soon.

Is there like a one post summary of what the heck is up here?

For someone new to this thread it's pretty confusing. Seems the dev's site is just a cover page and I can't read the 87 pages of this thread to find out:

1. Cost (I gather there's an introductory offer?)
2. Demo
3. How/Where to Buy
4. Is it still in beta?

Thanks!

ok, i've been playing with the trial and i'm really impressed!
it's versatile and really punchy in a drumgroup.
the range knob is a powerful addition, it's just genius to be able to control the gain reduction in such a way.
i have a couple of questions: what is the typical range value of the original SSL comp? i suppose that there are values that simulate the original more faithfully..
also: how does the peakclip function work? i'm hearing something like an analogue modeled drive going on, but it seems that the curve is relatively steep, i think i would prefer it softer.. sounds like hardclipping as it is now.

really really good job on this! dude, you should make more compressors!
imagine a bundle of three-four compressors in the same league as the Glue.. i'm wetting my pants (especially if you do a dirty distressor-inspired one)
