I would even pay good money for just a single vsti that loads single samples, and has the filters, waveshaper and envelope included. Im very serious.
Why...because I believe in your programming style:
1000 32bit Float vst programmers + 1 integer vst programmer
100 integer programmers doing hardware +1 integer vst programmer
You are in a class by yourself.
and I really don't care how much flak I get for saying that.

just use xhip, it does the same things as what you're asking for in a sample player.
for the effects, as for the filter just set env depth to zero.
there are issues with the effects and xhip that i'll solve in time, but i wanted to finish xhip before doing anything else. anything else is absolutely not something i'll do, unless it takes only a couple minutes.
minimix doesn't do anything, it's a shell of a plugin that simply adds four channels. use it in energyxt.

Fair enough, now im 'fina put my foot in my mouth...
do you remember me and the summing plugin fiasco..like 3-4 years ago and i was talking of building a integer based summing plugin...would this be that very thing. I know its only 4 mono channels, but its still worth the shot, at least for experimental purposes.Even if i am let down.

What happened to the planned changes to the wave shaper?
About patches, I recall at least two threads opened with the intention of producing or collecting them. No success at all :/. I wonder if people's apathy is due to the state of Xhip or simply lack of interest/time.
I've been saving patches since last year, with the intention of putting a bank together at some point.
The past conversion to float played against me, since I have to readjust some patches to sound the same as before. If there could be a way to do this at least semi automatically it would be great. I should do a search for the most problematic patches.

well, in my case it's because of it's state, to be exact, _your_ gui that you did a longer time ago (the white one) ... i'm just waiting for thatone, aswell as for it to function properly ... i just loved thatone ... what a shame ...gsoto wrote:I wonder if people's apathy is due to the state of Xhip or simply lack of interest/time.

Shit
. Sorry, brok.
I keep my goal of implementing the GUI sometime, but I really don't know when that will happen.
I believe, though, that with a little more work, Limeflavour's or Branis' GUIs could become very usable alternatives to the default one.

implementing gsoto's stuff at this point shouldn't be a huge issue. i think there were a couple small things to be corrected with it, but it's just a matter of time for both of us.
i hadn't planned to change the waveshaper much apart from making the pre-filter work correctly. the current implementation will be the same, only when patches are loaded the range will be set to 50 - 100 from the old range, then the new 0 - 50 range will be an adjustable lowpass with a fixed highpass. (the current mode is an adjustable highpass..)
i've got a lot less spare time these days. i spend most weekends and holidays doing other stuff rather than even thinking about xhip, i'm not even working on my hardware project much anymore. specific feature requests always work to kick my ass into action on those features, but with something significant like the last few things on the list i need to really sit down and work for a week or more to get it functioning correctly. hope that i break myself or get some kind of mega-flu, i guess, or maybe wish for an earthquake or floods. 3 meters of snow would also work.

http://xhip.cjb.net/xhip/releases/0/6/1 ... 6.17.4.zip
[0.6.17.4]
! separated notelogic from xhipcore
[0.6.17.3]
* loading extensions case-sensitive
* issue with oscillator sync to gate
[0.6.17.2]
* ringmod when osc.a amplitude above +6db
* synth parameters where negative range was positive
[0.6.17.1]
* lfo "random" waveform
- shifted wavetable generator out of xhip binary
* knob control wasn't updated when reset with ctrl-click
stuff i haven't mentioned in the thread...
this latest change could have introduced bugs. i manged to make it crash once but it seems to have been by "magic" since i can't reproduce it no matter how much i try. let me know if there are any crashes and if you can reproduce them that would rock.
next todo:
- move patch data out of synth core, into matrix
