Hello there! I would love to change the orangy-colour of the plug in but I'm not good at programming.. so I'm wondering if there's any way to use the skins from version 1.6 posted on the Expert Sleepers website to change the skin of v. 2.0.?? Hope this question makes sense.. Thanks!. Eliseo

Hi.
No, you can't use the older skins.
If all you want to change is the background though, you can do that without doing any programming - you just need to swap out the background image.

First step - did you download the Augustus Loop user manual and read the section on skins?

Thanks for your prompt response! Yeah, I did. It says that Augustus looks for skins on my mac in: Library/Application Support/Expert Sleepers/Augustus Loop/Skins... But there was no folder as such created once I installed the component in my computer. I created myself in order to install the old skins from version 1.6 but they didn't work... Now, I'm trying to find that Resources forlder in everywhere but I can't find it really... I also opened the package content of the Augustus's Audio Unit component but it doesn't show that folder...os wrote:First step - did you download the Augustus Loop user manual and read the section on skins?
What can I do then?
Thansk again

Sorry, I have to mention that I also found a folder probably related to this in Library/Audio/Presets/Expert Sleepers/Augutus Loop but there is no skins folder and it's empty...pangea2003 wrote:os wrote:First step - did you download the Augustus Loop user manual and read the section on skins?

OK, so download one of the skins from
http://www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/august ... index.html
and put it in the Skins folder, and make sure you can see it in Augustus Loop. Then you at least know you've got things in the right place.
Then you can download the default skin components (last item on the Skins web page) and replace the gui.lua script in whatever skin you downloaded, so it looks more or less like the default skin. Then you can replace bgtile.png with whatever you like to change the background image.

Alright. I did all the steps and I managed to change the appearance of the skin. Very badly though as the skins were very different and all the buttons and colors were messed up.. but it seems is working.. what kind of file do I have to put in the folder in order to change the background? Can i put a normal jpeg? any specific dimensions?os wrote:OK, so download one of the skins from

Okay, it's working for me now! However, the image I choose is still over the orange colour or something and it becomes mixed in colour.. If I want a normal grey background what type of image file should I need (dimensions, file type, etc..)?

I think it has to be a png. Also has to be power-of-2 sized (does the manual say that?) e.g. 256x256, 1024x128, etc. If it's smaller than the actual plug-in window, it will be tiled.

Also, being able to change and swap different skins of Augustus is a great feature when working with multiple plug ins inserted in different tracks os Ableton Live for example.. because now I know what loop is which very easily and quickly by recognising the different skins!
Thanks again
