I like how this guy comes in and register for the sole purpose to ask forum members for free work for his commercial application.
Oh well, at least we have more knobs to learn from.

I wasn't aware that it was for a commercial application, not that I was paying very close attention (or that I would have not contributed anyway).A3ntar wrote:for his commercial application.
As for my own contributions to this thread, it was done out of a desire to be 1) helpful to someone 2) meet a challenge 3) help others as anyone could download the result, i.e. it wasn't strictly done for the OP.
I release commercial products, and heaven knows I've benefitted from a lot of help I've received here. Just giving a little back.

MS: whilst I understand your umbridge at what was said, please stay calm
The guy didn't know where you were coming from (I can't remember the extent to which you'd explained it before), and came to a conclusion, and perhaps thought aloud publicly.
Answering him is fine, but please chill un peu.. I appreciate your offer of sharing the work your doing with us later, that's great and a generous thing to do. If folk go probing in future, probably the best thing to do is take a deep breath and just reply "nah, it's a college thing - would you like to help test it?" or something like that.
We're all grown ups here, and there's a natural ebb and flow of give and take; alas some things get misinterpreted, but are easy to put straight calmly. I did think that A3ntar was perhaps a little rude, but maybe he was having an off day...
Still, nice to have you here, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with

I never misunderstood, I thought it was clear. Didn't matter to me either way. It shouldn't really matter I mean if you ask a question and people are willing to answer then that is just what it is, they are willing to answer or even do some of the things for them if that is the case. Sounds more like the commentor is mad at the people that helped out for doing just that out of thier own free will.

Then please explain this quote by you earlier in this thread:MetalSir wrote: my proj is NOT commercial.. i'm workin' on a project for my university.. as work for my degree..

If that doesn't mean that you plan on collecting money for your ampsim but making an exception towards that forum member and not make him pay for said software, then I don't know what else to make of it.MetalSir wrote:
i don't know if you play guitar, but when my guitar processor will be done i'll send you a copy of the software for free
And duncanparsons, I was not having an off day, but I was upset that the guy clearly registered for the sole purpose to ask for free work for a product he hinted he will be making money off (as quoted earlier). And when he was given free work by members he begs for mods and wouldn't even bother to learn or try to modify them himself until another member issues a statement about it.
But ultimately it is for the individual forum members to decided whether or not to help him out. I was just shedding the light on the intentions I seen in his actions.

duncanparsons, no worriesduncanparsons wrote:fair enough, tbh I hadn't read all the ins and outs. Just trying to minimise flames in what is normally a very peaceful corner of KvR.

I wasn't trying to flame him...it was more like a mini rant. It takes a lot to actually make me angry at someone, and it is not in my character.
I just felt a bit upset by his attitude as I seen it that he was abusing of member's generosity. But you guys did an awesome job on these knobs

I register just to ask questions for free answers! I hope that I have contributed more then I have ask, at least on the graphics side
We all have off days, I was as well. The good thing is that its Tuesday now.

the ENTIRE project will remain to me except for the user you quoted from (if he want the proj, LOL).
a collection of vst took from the proj (containing the knob i took here) MAY will be given for free..
BTW, as Hlis93 said, forums are for questions and help request. place of discussion. Hlis93 decided to help me with this project and FOR SURE i'll send him the entire project.
in second istance, as duncanparsons said, chill out. i have not to justify anything with you..
NOW, let return to the 3d and stop this OFF-TOPIC & Flamming replyes..

i think you might want to show a little more willingness to accommodate the concerns of people who have offered you their time and effort, and be a little less demanding....MetalSir wrote: in second istance, as duncanparsons said, chill out. i have not to justify anything with you..
