Like most other people, I am really really impressed with Army of Synth1. All in all, I had a great time, and even voting isn't over, I consider this competition a resounding success. Good entries, guys!

i definitely think that's a good idea. maybe Oatmeal? we should keep it free or at least cheap, so that as many people can join as want to.

Yeah ... I've not done enough with Oatmeal to date, would be good to give it a right scroot! Can mac-lads use Oatmeal?
What rules would you change compared to the present comp? ( if any
)
Personally I see no point in limiting the fx .... at the end of the day, we are limited anyway whichever DAW we use, cos sooner or later CPU will be compromised if we use too many, thereby limiting how many instances of our 'one synth' we can use.
And should we rule out use of samples? ... even if they are rendered from our 'one synth? .. be quite nice to have the rules/guidelines sorted in advance!

OK, thanks MCnoone .... I'm not a Mac-lad myself, but it would be nice to be as inclusive as poss in the next comp ... I'm not assuming I will run the next comp, ( someone else might want a go, but more than willing to run it if folks fine with that! .. ) ... a wee bit uncomfortable at alienating the Mac-lads though!
Or maybe said mac users can run an equivalent comp? and the winners of each ( pc, mac ) go head to head? .... I dunno. be good to hear from mac users re. how they can be included ..... like none of those "rant, we're not invited" kind of negative stuff, more like "how about we use this and that instead, and the rest of the rules apply equally?" kind of diplomacy?
It's all open to negotiation, we can still have a best PC, best Mac category, but I feel there is strong support for an Oatmeal comp .... and i for one would be eager to do an Oatmeal only track.
So ... lets keep talking about it, and we can iron out the roadmap before we get going.

Oatmeal would be interesting, I've had trouble tearing myself away from Synth1 or ZebraCM... to use Oatmeal more.

When I think of you doin' an army of oatmeal, I see my porridge munching countrymen charging behind a blue faced Australian with a girls name and showing of their ars*s in the name of freedom!!!

Ha, it wouldn't be Army of Oatmeal, "Army of Synth1" was suppose to be a word play on the slogan "Army of One"... I'd probably come up with something like "Bowl of Oatmeal"tattiemannie wrote:Aaaargh dont want to hear from you kaiyoti! Your shit track is embarrassing us real artists!!

OK, still hate ye!
Did you know, that oatmeal, in many cases can be used instead of soya 'mince' and is not only very much cheaper, but actually has some flavour of its own?

What??? in all its various forms?? oatcakes? porridge? oatmeal loaf? hobnobs? flapjacks? microwaved with fruit yoghurt? as an alternative to bread crumbs on fish? stuffing? fried with onions and peppers? .... its like saying you hate the wind despite the fact its made of the same stuff your lungs are constantly processing to keep you alive!!!!
