Hello all'

I was just reading the manual today (strange , I know !) and noticed on page 7 , it makes reference to the stand alone mode ; I did;nt see this when I downloaded after purchase, did I miss it or what ???

I can can only get 3 banks (DX72, Electroloops 2, and additive keys )from the 15 on the presets page to load up.( am at ver2.04) The manual said that it could be backwards compatible with earlier versions of patches but I get a message that says "wrong plugg".

And Last , I only see one alternative skin for this , how does one go about changing colors , do I have to get deep intp "picture it " or something to re-skin??

Congrats on a great , powerfull synth!! This is going to keep me busy !!!!

Just run the rhino2.exe file, this is the standalone version.

Now that's very strange. Does this also happen with the standalone version ?

There haven't been many skins contributed, probably because of the overall depth of the Rhino user interface. You can download one from the site, though.

Ok , Stand alone is sorted , I can get the other banks by dragging them from folder and dropping into Rhino interface : must be a host thing. By the way, thanks for the way Rhino gives you so many options to load banks , I was in the habit of using the host to do it , but I realize now I don't need to that at all with Rhino !! Third party banks are all loading through host ok , but I just moved all of them to the preset folder inside Rhino Folder and have instant access , so thats sorted too!!!
Factory skin is fine , Looks like I'm good to go and ready to launch.
Thanks!!!

Excuse the daft question, but how does standalone work? there is nowhere in the interface to open up my audio/midi options - in other words Rhino will load up fine....all my banks are in place. But i cant make a sound out of it unless its running via a host application such as Sonar/chainer etc...or am i missing something?

Thanks

I haven't used the standalone for ages, but if(!) I remember correctly, I think a simple right-click on the interface opens up the setup menu

Not for me it doesn't. I looked in the user manual and the brief info it says had something to do with having to use Directsound drivers - wtf. No asio output? In any case i have NO options/setup screen when in standalone mode.

Sorted.

To open the setup screen in standalone for your audio/midi - 'right-click' on the white square in the top left hand corner, where it says Rhino TinyVst. There you can wake the beast!

Still not sure about the record wav. function though...i can record a wave file - but how do i get it to play back? winamp just freezes up. Or is this function to record waveforms to import into Rhino's editor only?

Thanks anyway - esp to mikusan! you were right mate.

Yr welcome - as for the record .wav function, again, it's a while since I used this (I still use Rhino but only as a VST) but I think it's a quick way of rendering the output: define a filename/storage location, play some notes, stop recording (sorry, I forget how you do that), then play back the wavefile from wherever you stored it. Hope this helps...

The "stop recording" button is at the same location than "record wav": top left menu.
