In one of the most recent GB's, it was mentioned that SR was going to release a Kitcore (Drumcore? Can't remember which...) type product that would be subject to a nice discount for all the GB participants.

Considering we're just a couple of weeks away from the Drumcore 3 release, I was wondering what the timetable is for the release of the SR Kitcore package.

Also, while I'm at it, any word on Studiophonik?

Studiophonik sounds were turned in and then in order to comply with some requests from IK we're going back to retouch some things. One request was to do GM as well but it's just too much, too large, too complex given the way we had to make this multi-channel product using ST in a creative way so we're probably NOT going to be able to do that but some other things we will do and then... finally... this thing will be out and that will be the last of the legacy multi-year-old announcements... more or less. This one takes the cake but we all know! At least some of you got a chance to have the Prelude and can use it. There's just some more sounds and a GUI left really. The bigger news will be coming later when there's an enhancement product for it but I can't talk about that. Luckily though that's not officially announced so it will just arrive out of the blue and you'll hopefully just be pleasantly surprised.

Now, back to these kitpacks... well, they're done! We have about 20 of them and they're pretty darn cool! The player is simply KitCore with our "OmniDrummer" name on it. The midi files are different than KitCore's though. They're mostly from GrooveMonkee but we'll have some exclusive ones from SR available as well.

We're going to do a promo deal on KitPacks in April to celebrate the release of DC3. Our OmniDrummer software will be available to those that don't have KitCore or Drum Core 3 (if you have Drum Core 3 you may not need the KitCore/Omni app itself but certainly the sounds will be of interest).

Thanks for the thorough response, Squids. I'm definitely looking forward to the whole Drumcore 3/Squidscore stuff coming. I know D3 is coming next month, and those kitpacks sound great.

Kitcore, as it turns out, is really my go-to for drums and composing. I'm surprised that this little app isn't really much more popular than it is. Very inexpensive, you get a ton of great kits and some very fine options with grooves.

And it is so light on CPU that it just is easy to fire up, audition and tweak.

While I'm at it, I wanted to give you guys at SR some props on something else. I'm just now getting around to playing with the new content in Cubase 5 for HalionONE. I believe that the "SR" bank is yours, along with varied content from some of the other included libraries.

I'm sure I already own much of this in other formats, but it is great to get it integrated this way. And it has been maximized for the HalionONE player. There's a ton of very useful kits, as well as a couple of banks of 'mix 'n match' loops which make it very easy to get creative.

The only odd thing about HalionONE is that it's not a full service sampler (the recent reviews also note that for all the new bells and whistles, a full sampler would have been nice for C5). So if you like to tweak, you have to look elsewhere. Fortunately however, the patches are extremely playable right out of the box, and the limited tweaking functions are very useful for most of the patches.

So anyway, great job on the new content. I never really used HalionONE before, mainly because there really wasn't much there. But I can see a lot of this new stuff will now be going into my future compositions.

Yeah I too find Kitcore a breeze to use when getting a set together. Almost as good as DR008-Slicy and Fillin drummers which frankly I still find to be best mode even Better than BFD1 and BFD2. Not in terms of sounds but in terms of generating grooves (I am no finger drummer). Btw I cannot getting anything going with the Infinite Player kits and grooves I have.

Cheers,
Gordon

Thanks guys. We'll have more coming for HALion ONE soon. That's on the list but got backed up from delays with other things... delays just take the wind out of the sails (and sales) but you gotta just plow on. We're self funded so we can only go as fast as what comes in to fuel the fire.

Speaking of fueling the fire we're going to have these Kit Paks for sale soon. We have at least 15 ready to go and they're only $15 each so... you can't go wrong with any of them!!!! Haha. We're also going to make the whole thing modular. So you can get the OmniDrummer Player (a KitCore with no sounds but with 3,000+ GrooveMonkee and SR midi files) and each individual kit for $10-25 each ($25 would obviously be for some deluxe kits... we're even doing some Ocean Way Drums lite version stereo kits as well as various artist kits and we're going to sell ALL of the Submersible kits for download starting in late April as well!!!!).

More news coming.

There's also a HUGE free update coming from Drum Masters/Infinite Player kits and grooves. Plus tutorials that I think will really help a lot.
