The Glue is designed to fit a certain roll in peoples production as a tool that people feel very comfortable with using very quickly, hence the fixed positions will remain. I will do more compressors in the future, perhaps one of them will be more suited to what you are after, perhaps not.

The glue is very neutral and non coloring or saturation for tracks. So perhaps a warmth one will be more suitable.

it helped me to shape the sound pretty much in a way I had it in my mind...

it's in polish language :)

the Range and dry/wet functions are very useful indeed...
What is this song about?
hmm, as i get it it's pretty metaphysical about God, more or less... and the end of the days.
nice to hear Glaca in good shape tho' 8)

Andy, what's the difference between SSL buss and channel compressors?

I have never looked at public schematics of the SSL channel compressor so I couldn't say.

Can anybody point me to the soundsamples somebody made using "the glue" in normal stereo and in "unlink mode" ?

Thanx!

Andrew, the Glue does it's job, u sold me!

I just wish it had more of the G-Master buss Comp "Sound" i feel like its lacking a lil there, it sounds a lil light, i cant quite decribe it, but it does better than my emulations LOL. i tested the Logic comp emu, and ten the sonalksis emu(it blew that one away quick), I just which it had more noise, and it was as aggressive to the bone as the G comp. But man thank u. Maybe in later releases!?

Glue or Waves SSL, I'd really like to know how some of you feel about it, since this was made in comparison to Hardware. I really like the Waves alot! please let me know ur reasons as well in reguards to sound... No GUI talk here lol

There are a few people on the thread that have used two instances of The Glue to do this, but there is no unlink mode in The Glue itself. I'll leave it to those people, if they have time and feel the inclination, to post some examples.

Good to hear your like the sound of The Glue, even if it's not exactly the same as your hardware. As a matter of interest which SSL hardware model do you have? Depending on the model there are different things happening to the signal, some of which are not modeled. The Glue has perfectly matched components on the left and right signals, no transformers, and a perfectly linear voltage to dB converter, and no noise. I wanted The Glue to have a pristine signal path, and just keep the sidechain behaviour to get the great "thwack" on the attacks and solid sustain of the original.

Just wanted to agree with Funkybot's earlier comment about the range being so unique.

Like putting it on a drum buss with around -30dB threshold, 10 ratio, fast attack and release, 200Hz on the hpf for the kick, and bring the range down to around 15 or so...parallel compression doesn't work nearly as well for unclamping the snare but keeping it 'smashed'. I think I'd have to do some tricky routing to clone that sound.

The Rocket's first preset 'Sex,drums, rocknroll' is probably the best 4button emulation I've heard so far this side of a UAD card, I can almost get it with the Glue slammed but not quite as good...I prefer the snare unclamped a lot though (now), and the Rocket can't really do that sound either.

Quite a good pair actually... :)

yeah, The Rocket rocks, the Glue, .... Glues!!! sry
