I already said I downloaded the trial version, but i guess u didn't read that. lol, I just wanted to hear other ppls opinion about WAVES vs. The Glue.. but i dont think you understood that either lol. Oh, the only audio I found was UAD 4k vs. The Glue. If you know where the link is, please post itI also have my opinions about the Glue vs. The SSL Waves, which i previously posted as well lol, I dont think u saw that. but it's okay... Anyone else feel free to post ur thoughts specifically about waves... i wanna see if its just me that feels the same way about waves vs. the glue.. but in all seriousness, i've been diggin scoobs, u got it.. post it. thanks

yeah apparently those were extreme examples to highlight the algorithms.
One of the things that seperates the glue from the competition is the range knob. Lots of info in this thread

Well, the glue is not the only compressor with a 'range' function.
If I may do some shameless self-promotion, Red Phatt Pro also
includes a compressor gain range limiter (including visualization
of what this means in terms of input/output curve)...

Anyone got the glue (v1.09) working in sidechain mode? I tried it with a quadra group channel with the glue inserted and routed the kick to the second stereo pair (Ls Rs) of the quadra group channel and e.g. string to the first stereo pair. Then pushed the Ext in button. I tested it with Cubase 4 & 5 but the glue seems not to respond. I also do not see the needle moving at all. (Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4 GHz & WinXP SP2 with 2 GB RAM)
Edit: Just to make sure that I did nothing wrong I replaced the glue with Slim slow slider sidechain plugin (http://www.geocities.jp/webmaster_of_sss/vst/) and the sidechain worked.

Thanks Jay, i see one person commented on what they thought about Glue Vs. Waves... I thought that the waves sounded more Grittier, and warmer on the punch when I compared them about 2 days ago... but thats just me.. I just tossed the Glue on a track im working on right now, and man... i love how it doesnt pull thing all over the place.. and that range button.. OOF! its hot. I still wish it had that umph that the Waves SSL has, but for 99 bucks, im not complaininMorris wrote:Anyone got the glue (v1.09) working in sidechain mode? Ah, now i got it.scoobz wrote:Anyway, adl, I wasn't saying it was anything you'd done, I meant maybe the m/s balance inside the 4k plugin was different, kind of a "super secret/undercover" betterizer lol Pure speculation on my part, everything I said above still stands
Thanx for glue 1.0.9 btw Andrew, runs fine in Ableton 7.0.15
Sidechaining is working as well.

Well, if the sidechain wasn't working then you wouldn't hear any compression! Do you mean external sidechainingadl wrote:Ah, now i got it.scoobz wrote:Anyway, adl, I wasn't saying it was anything you'd done, I meant maybe the m/s balance inside the 4k plugin was different, kind of a "super secret/undercover" betterizer lol Pure speculation on my part, everything I said above still stands
