Reproduce it like this:
- Start SX.
- Bring up the instrument window.
- put an SR202 v1.1 in the first slot.
- select "No VST instrument" in the first slot.
- answer the question on if you want to save modifications by: Discard.
Poof! SX disappears without a trace.

I always suspected there was a kind of magic within Steinborg.

Well, this is one of the few plugs that actually poof on my SX installation, so I'd say that it is due to some unfortunate lines of code in this particular plug.

We are aware of the problem and looking into it.

Dammit!

Here the muon guy actually responds to little rants regarding a giveaway pluggo.

I kinda like the little plug, aber es ist also a bit without character - I mean, what caracter can you expect from a product that hides it's personality behind name like SR-202?

Therefore, I suggest you re-name the little SR-202 to:

----------------
** KIT MUON **
----------------

... and treat it like such.

(can we have a per-pad-tubelimiter in next update, please ?)

Well, it's been a slow day on the support side

Joking apart though, we've noticed that Cubase SX2 does something strange with CM303, SR202, DS404 and Tau MkII. It is doing something quite differently to how previous Cubase versions (and other hosts) - it seems to go mental setting program names whenever the inspector controls on the right are redrawn (after mousing them for example). Right now, we're not sure if this has exposed a bug in our code, or whether or not it is a bug in their code.

As for SR202, the next version will be called "Neutron" and although I can't promise a tube limiter on every pad, it will have a very comprehensive multi-fx system.

*Neutron* sounds neutral.

I vote for ** KIT MUON **.

With big, square-ish, bold type.
And sound like that.

Mit der impakt.

Does the "use old plugins" (or whatever the actual setting name is) make a difference? From what I've read (I don't use Cubase personally), apparently quite a few plugins have gotten bitten by the new VSTI spec.

No, it doesn't make a difference. All that switch actually does is switch a plugin between a replacing process and an accumulating process. Muon plugins have been able to do either properly since 1998
