Only one thing in mind at the moment: GOD.
Actually, another thing in my mind at this moment: what does xoxos' signature say?!

yes, speaking of originality.robojam wrote:Good band, but not as good as Spinal Tap.
Nigel Tufnel was the real drive and creativity in the band. i think without him, they would have been half the band they actually were. and yeah, some of that had to do with his equipment, modified amps that can go to 11 and such... one of the most brilliant musicians in rock and roll history.

i dont think being original neccassarily means doing something no one has done before.eduardo_b wrote: What I mean is, how does someone perceive something being original as opposed to not.
it has more to do with being true to ones self, for me, its the bands who get into bandwagon following ie "my current scene is dying out, whats the new big thing"
eg bowie, while chainging himself regularly did so with a natural progression and while borrowing from many areas managed to be himself.
coil are a band where if you listen to recordings from years apart it can sound like two totally different acts, again there is a progression that worked.
britney on the other hand tried thr rock out pop stuff and it seemed false, some of her pure pop stuff though is perfect pop, as an example of a pop princess who has managed to keep true to herslf while changing i would cite kylie, hardly a step wrong as far as im concerned yet managed to change to a point where rather than a twee soap star turned pop star we have the full fledged pop princess. amazing.

Well said. The Coil example is excellent. Ulver is another good example of this, IMO.vurt wrote: i dont think being original neccassarily means doing something no one has done before.

Well, it seems I didn't stick to the message the OP originally intended to get across?

Yes, that robojam bastard is always doing that. You really have to watch that guy, very shifty.
