Working on a full standalone version of this and found a bug in the current version (besides the clunkiness

)..

If MIDI files are not associated with some app they will not strip. For instance if you happen to uninstall a media player or host that is your computers MIDI player and the association table does not reset back to wmplayer (default MIDI player), STMNO will fail to see this.

To temporarily fix this you just have to associate MIDI files with some other programs (preferably wmplayer). If for some crazy reason you really need this version pm me and I will send you a patch that fixes it. My suggestion is to just wait for the next version.

The newer (and much better) version will automatically fix this issue. It also no longer uses MidiDsm (and eventually MIDIFILE.DLL GENMIDI.DLL) as its backbone (had to learn somehow

).

Did you make any imporovments on the software yet?
I would love to be able to use that program.
I just haven't been able to get it to work since I last tried.

What operatiing system are you using? If XP what service pack?

Sorry its taking so long. I'm using some modules now that I need permission to distribute 1st and I havent heard anything back from the dev. I may have to find an alternative if I dont hear something back soon.

In the meantime try MidiDsm manually to remove all messages but notes. Please let me know if this works for you!

I am running xp service pack 3

I have a Question:
Are there "hidden" cc changes embedded in a file. I ask this because my midi keyboard (Fusion 6HD)won't play certain drum notes. I play the file through my computer software with all the CC's and it plays fine. I up load it to my Alesis keyboard and it misses beats and stuff. As if it is a polypony issue. No way can it be. Quized tech support on it. So I'm trying to totally strip the file clean of everything except notes in hopes that will fix it.

Maybe you have some thoughts on it. Hidden info I am not able to see to delete?

MIDI files can contain considerable amounts of meta, sysex and other erroneous data that could potentially have adverse effects on different equipment depending on how it handles particular messages.

Where are you getting these MIDI files from? Are they custom files from recordings or from somewhere else?

The manual for your keyboard should have an MIDI implementation section (hopefully with full HEX definitions). I would read this carefully and try to figure out how messages other than notes effect the playback of voices.

Did you try MIDIdsm yet? Make sure you only select notes when converting.

I was able to get a new version of STMNO completed to a level I feel comfortable with. I just need to do a few more things before I compile and upload it. Check back here tomorrow (later today depending on where your at

). I put a whole bunch of error checking in this version that should help debug most problems if any occur.

The files are custom which I made with bends (pitch wheel) and
lots of other data. Other files I purchased with even more crap!

However even when I think I manualy deleted all CC data, my keyboard acts quirky as if it's still there. Weird. That's why I mentioned hidden data somewhere? I will check my implementation manual.

No I didn't try midism cause it won't open. I downloaded the other necessary apps the site mentioned I needed for it to work but ...Nothing.

The next version should be up in the next couple of hours or so.

The new installer leaves MIDIdsm (including the associated dll files) on the system and only removes my old STMNO! This is just incase MIDIdsm was installed prior to my app.

To uninstall MIDIdsm, use the uninstaller that came with it.
