Great idea!

Stimulus limited time special...

However, a couple of the pre-sale purchasers have stated that it's not fair. Someone was trying to figure out if there could be any incentives that would make the pre-sale purchasers feel like they aren't getting shafted. No one has responded to that.
If the dev would consider it... Instead of a GB they could just drop the price to $150 for a given time period and forget the hassle of a GB. That might satisfy enough users and keep the early adopters happy as well.
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

I selected Berlin Small, but nothing happens here in Logic Studio.

First of all, the sound is great AND it makes difference from other reverbs, and this is what matters to me ;)
I own Altiverb, CSR and even a great donationware plugin called Ambience. Ambience is the closest result I get from Aether, but it is way TOO much CPU expensive. But the results are great also, very very organic.

I think the size becomes an issue for those users who might want to use this on a laptop. But as long as you can choose a smaller variant, which in this case you can, then it shouldn't be an issue.

rsantiago, were you able to switch to the smaller one and was that better?

You are entitled to your opinion considering the graphics in the gui. That's cool. I won't comment on that.

But when it comes to size consider this...the trend nowadays is toward larger monitors. As time passes by more and more users will want larger gui's.

Galbanum is owned by me, Andrew Souter, and develops Content Libraries, and Sound Design tools.

2CAudio is jointly owned by Denis Malygin, and Andrew Souter and develops software and plugins.

We call them "sister companies" b/c I am deeply involved in both and we share some of the same resources...

...and there will be little more blurring of this distinction in future products. ;-)

Or on a select few products/bundles? But if 300 people buy a $50 product and only 10 buy Aether for the 60% or whatever off, then it wouldn't work out right--unless all products were in a similar price range.

Post

We are only discussing 2CAudio Aether. There is little point in making a group buy on $30-$60 dollar products IMHO.

Haha. The max discount would be like $5 on a $30 product... only after 200 people sign up, of course. I'm sure somewhere out there, someone is waiting for that group buy.

Hey, I'm not sure if you saw that error I was having with the demo. I put it in the other thread.

I just figured out I had to reload the plugin for the skin selection to take effect. It's better now ;)

We are not interested in creating a "Sale" price that is not tied to a volume purchase. Aether is NOT "On Sale". It is a pro product, which we feel is an extremely good value at the current $249.95 price. As we stated earlier, we as the developers set the price and decide how and when to give specials. And as you can read here, this becomes complicated to balance all the factors involved. So we will not simply drop the price to $150 or whatever. Sorry.

What you as customers and potential customers can do, as Aplats has done, is to be enterprising and find ways to work together and organize a volume discount. Volume discounts are a normal fact of business life. A group buy in our mind is simply a slightly more exotic volume discount, so we are open to that idea.

If we were to opt to do this we would find a way to make it "fair" for all the existing customers as well. That is important to us. We can address that if needed. There is no need for feedback on this topic, unless you are an existing customers and would like to contract me off-list.

It looks like this should easily get over 100 participants. If so, we are likely to make some variety of offer. The offer will get better as the numbers go up above this and they need to quite high for us to even consider any of the low range figures suggested here (i.e. prices less than $150). If we do this our thought would be to make the price the same for everyone who has paid to date, and pre-release customers would get an additional bonus. So as you can imagine this will involve a lot of admin and PR work from our end. So you will have to work with us as a team to expand the size of the group buy in effort to achieve any desired lower price points.

That said, we really appreciate the spirit and initiative of this idea, and I think if we work together to spread this idea to other communities we might easily reach some higher tiers.

I will run this idea past our existing customers, and then get back to you with our ideas about price/volume tiers, if our existing customers find this idea acceptable.

Post

So we could come to you with a 100 person-plus volume discount?

Post

Yes, this seems like that will be quite easy to do already. So we will consider the 100 person mark as the first tier, and go from there. Something like that should allow us to make this work for everyone and we are very happy to try to work together in this regard.
