VST like Paul's Stretch

The standalone works well, but I'd really like something similar in a VST format. Any suggestions...any coders?

What'ya mean use glitch itself? I have it, but don't recall any of the effects being for stretching -- only tried it but never found any use for the plug.scoobz wrote:I think there was a vst version of dblue's stretch (from the glitch plugin) that allowed for quite heavy stretching. Alternatively you could just use glitch itself

So the module called "Stretcher" wasn't a dead give away?
But it won't stretch to any significant length. You'd probably want an instrument/sample player of some kind, rather than an effect. Can't think of anything ideal at the moment though.
I use Audiomulch's Bubbleblower and automation if I need that kind of timestretching in real time, but I can't think specifically of a VSTi with the same functionality.

Took a look at the plug and realized the last module is for stretching. I don't need ideal if you mean the extreme stretching that Paul's does, but certainly at least doubling or more. I wonder if there's a technical reason why the code couldn't be used in a VST format -- really surprised no one has done something like this.shamann wrote:So the module called "Stretcher" wasn't a dead give away?

Yeah, the term grain was in my mind, but I couldn't remember why. There's a number of granualizers I think, although none comes to mind. They chain in after the audio source, such as a wav file?scoobz wrote:oh and shamann's probably right, you might also check out granulizers if you want a very short segment to last for three days (like paulstretch)

You might look into TimeFreezer:

I've heard you can do a lot with it.
It's $100, though...

Well, 9x seems like it should work, but the effect doesn't seem to sustain even when set to 900 percent and solo. I'll play around with it and see what I can get it to do.scoobz wrote:well if you already have glitch it's worth a shot surely? Like I said it goes to 9x the length, so it's probably the easiest solution for what (it sounds like) you want.

LiveSlice has significant time-stretching capabilities.

I'd guess it has something to with buffer size and resource allocation. The Stretcher in Glitch works a little weird in comparison to a normal stretcher, it stretches what's in its buffer but resets its buffer frequently due to the tempo-based nature of the effect. Even dblue's separate stretcher plugin starts crashing if overused.eduardo_b wrote:I wonder if there's a technical reason why the code couldn't be used in a VST format -- really surprised no one has done something like this.
