Actually playing their 2nd album which is called exactly the same as their first & third albums
Still haven't bought their 3rd cuz I'm holding out for the mariachi album.

Agreed guys Suicidal.T's are classic crossover. The Bronx are a good band also and their self-titled is a real strong rough and ready record that i really enjoyed (and im not usually a big punkish/HDCore man) both quality records.
Sacred Reich - Surf Nicaragua
Rumplestiltskin Grinder - Buried In The Front Yard & Their latest (see the sig)
Gojira - The Link Alive (DVD)
Slayer - Still Reigning (DVD)
Nevermore - Dreaming Neon Black & Dead Heart In A Dead World
Candlemass - From The 13th Sun
The Haunted - ...Made Me Do It, The Dead Eye & Versus
Seance - Back Catalogue and looking forward to their new one
Pestilence - Back Catalogue and really f**king looking forward to their new one
Nekro
Oh and the latest Mastodon record 'Crack The Skye'. I did not enjoy Blood Mountain and im not digging Crack The Skye that much either. Maybe it will grow on me
Give me some 'We Built This Come Death, Blood And Thunder, March Of The Fire Ants...etc anyday

Cheers for ths list. All the Bronx albums are self-titled which does get a bit confusing.NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Agreed guys Suicidal.T's are classic crossover. Latter day Mastodon like latter day Metallica are a band I should like but don't, its almost as though its been filtered to take out all the parts I would enjoy and what is left is for mass consumption... or maybe Im just a fussy bastard/snob

i never skateboarded as i did not want to break my arm or fingers as i play the guitar and a broken arm or fingers = hell. Yeah dont think i would skate to pestilence if i did skate though. Maybe anything by Exodus, Slayer, Testament, Violence...etc mainly bay area style thrash to get me pumped
i love it.

had a few weeks of a rough time lately, but getting back to normalish now, just means i have a bit of college work to get sorted, but i should be able to grab a day sometime soon. although, bizzarely ive been hired
to do, wait for it, session glockenspiel player

ps: as for metallica, ignore everything post justice, it just seems less dirty that way.

This is Radio Station AZR signing off for today...
I used to skate until I put my bottom teeth through the skin under my lip and knocked 3 out so I thought I'd give bmx a try, cue a several broken bones (usually fingers) but the worst one was when my pedals scraped down into my leg and along my shin bone. King hurt.

I don't know who Mastodon's producer is but perhaps they should hire Steve Albini or someone similar...
Likewise, I answer to Steve, Az or whatever although its usually "oi mate" round hereNEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Yes i agree, im up in manchester btw. Seems we share similiar tastes in mettle and view points. Good to meet you man

im listening to me and my modular

No still right on the boarder, so greater manc/eastest most cheshire is more apt. I got stung with a rotten illness about 3-weeks ago and it was an odd one as i had no cold but i was getting shivers, skull-f**king headaches and really bad stomach aches: Glad to see the back of it man i tell you.vurt wrote:you living in manc now?

Glockenspiel session player
Yeah let us now when you can smuggle some free time, apart from some legal bullshit over getting custody of my lil' princess i do not have any plans or worked lined up at the moment so i will no doubt be able to make it whenever is good for you. Look forward to hearing some of your ideas man and if i can help then im happy to do so and yes just for the sake of catching up too
Take it easy man and speak to you soon
Dean
Yeah vurt and Steve; my Metallica ends at '...And Justice' and it always has done (i don't like Bob Rock and never have done!) and Rick Rubin is well past his glory days imho.
Radio AZR: Mastodon have used Matt Bayles (check out his credits on Discogs as its impressive Botch, Isis, Horse The Band, Norma Jean...
http://www.discogs.com/artist/Matt+Bayles) and he does a fine job usually i reckon bar Blood Mountain but that is as much the song writting as sound i think) on every EP/Record up to and including 'Blood Mountain' (which they had signed to a major for anyway so that may have had a hand in it also) but this new one 'Crack The Skye' was overseen by 'Andy Walace' whom litteraly had just wrapped up/finished work on the latest by AC/DC 'Black Ice'. The heavyness went on 'Blood Mountain' and 'Crack The Skye' reminds me even more of a classic 70's rock type guitar tone with everything else a bit more upto date and whilst not a bad thing at all: it just is not working for me and further heaviness has been lost in favour of proggy 70's like guitar work and much more melodic vocals. Albini would be good as he just sticks the band in a room, sets up his mic collection and there you go he captures what it really sounds like. Im no way saying its easy what Steve does as he has got it down to a fine art
Anyways Mastodon rant over
