There's only one vurt, and besides, my sculpting interests are bit different than yours. :)

The thing is, I've been thinking about using the fx from amp sims for some time. Any favorites from among the rather large number on offer?

I rarely use the amp sims in Guitar Rig 3 but the effects are awesome and it has tons of modulation potential with it's MDFs. I love me some Guitar Rig when I do the kind of stuff vurt is describing.

Good to know because that's the one I have, but I'd be willing to try something else if the fx were worth considering. Even those who don't find any amp sim that authentic seem to like the fx sections.

i dont have gr, but i have used it at a friends house, some nice sounds indeed.
but have to admit to being a little overwhelmed and only having a short time with it, so couldnt suggest anything specific.
i would say however, just go for it, whats the worst that can happen?

Not really spent much time with GR3 (always on the list of things to do), but I assume I can run a signal through the fx without it also going through an amp and cab. I only bought it because of a very attractive deal...thinking...someday I'll be glad I have it. :)

See my post above. Clueless. :hihi:

Of course, you can also use the crossfade module to create a wet dry mixer.

Sounds better and better. I always have an optimistic assumption that I'll have time to learn new software while also trying to use what I already have...it rarely happens.

One of my favorite patches...

an envelope follower determines how much signal feeds the delay and the dry signal is processed with a rotary speaker. Excellent on e-piano.

Gratzie for this. 8)

I've been looking very closely at this and talking to a coder friend because I want a granular timestretcher/scrub type scratcher all-in-one live buffer-capturing VST:

it gave me good thoughts, maybe it'll inspire someone competent

+1 for dBlue - but it gets crashy just like particle cloud

Been playing with GR3 a little bit and it does have a lot of cool fx in it, and in some ways the amps and cabs are equally valuable as effects. They may not seem spot-on accurate to experienced guitarists, but for sound sculpting maniacs they work just fine. 8)

So, LiveSlice was a no eh?

Not a no. I have it laying about in some folder, but I don't think I ever recognized that it has time-stretching abilities. To me, it seems a slice and rearrange type of program. How does one go about stretching in LiveSlice?
