I had a go at this thread, but I don't see what all the fuss is about.

really? i was told it could do any sound. i've been using samples for trance and old analog synths. i'd love to hear some club quality trance or some 70's moog out of zebra. anyone got a link? i'm also looking for well worn organs. i've been using samples to get all the quirks of the real thing, but i've been told zebra will do ultra realistic real word instruments. could it also replace my hammered dulcimer samples?zerocrossing wrote:I think the problem is Zebra's not for trance.

Nope, you're confusing Zebra with Novakill synths. Those can do ANY sound. Ask BONES, he'll explain it youandroidlove wrote:i was told it could do any sound.

I really like the Unempty Dark Horse skin for Zebra ALOT, it's gorgeous! Arksun did a great job on his new presets as well: http://www.arksun-sound.com/products.html
Also, Urs seems like a very devoted developer and great guy. To top it all off, Zebra uses a serial number for the copy protection, however I'm still in agreement with tehlord when it comes to the sound... I'm not saying it sounds bad, it just doesn't sit well with me. Honestly I really do want to like Zebra.

I think the problem is you guys are comparing it to Sylenth1. If that synth wouldn't exist, Zebra2 would be the best sounding synth out there !djanthonyw wrote:I really like the Unempty Dark Horse skin for Zebra ALOT, it's gorgeous! I'm not comparing it to any other synth. After all, I already have Sylenth.

you know although I bought Sylenth during the Group Buy and use it very often. I don't think it sounds half as nice as Zebra 2 or as versatile as it is. I think all I use Sylenth for is Gated type sounds.. whereas I have used zebra for almost anything under the sun, except drums.

In my opinion Zebra is one of the top synths on the market. Out of curiosity what do you find lacking in the sound?

I do agree that Zebra2 is more versatile. I love it for natural sounds but for anything else (house music in its broadest meaning) I prefer Sylenth1. Anyway, not planning to turn this into a Sylenth1 vs Zebra2 debate, back on topiczvenx wrote:you know although I bought Sylenth during the Group Buy and use it very often. Hard to say exactly, it's just the tone. I know it's a subjective thing, but it sounds cold to me.Teksonik wrote:In my opinion Zebra is one of the top synths on the market. Out of curiosity what do you find lacking in the sound?
