Is there a way to create an immediate tape stop in AL?

Is there a way in a Augustus Loop to make an immediate tape stop as the one that can be heard in this song at 1:01
I am using it in Logic Pro 8, and I am trying to add an immediate tape/record stop effect to a melody which I have looped. However, whenever I attempt to do this I am always hearing a delay, I have tried messing with the delay parameters but I am afraid I am a bit lost..any ideas would be helpful thanks!

Pressing the 'Stop' button should do exactly that.
When you say "a melody which I have looped", do you mean you've looped it in Augustus, or you've looped it elsewhere and are trying to use Augustus to get the tape stop effect?

I have looped it 8 bars in Logic, and towards the end of the 8 bars in Logic I would like to use this effect and have it stop and start up once again with no change in the pitch (when it restarts the loop again)

You can do what you want, but it might take some setup. In augustus
* activate digital mode, and turn off saturation
* set the delay time to 8 bars (use host sync)
* set the dry level to 0% and the effect level to 100%
* set the feedback to 100%
Play the loop once only into Augustus - you should now have the loop looping. Then use the Stop button to stop and start, and record the output. Then drop that recording into your song at the relevant point instead of the original loop.

I had saw something like this before but I am on a mac unfortunately..have not seen anything but augustus for this
So i start to solo out the track which I want this effect to be used for, but when I am setting the parameters as you have told me the loop will begin recording at the tape at Bar 1, but I will not hear any playback until about 5 3/4 bars. This is a problem because I am trying to record a full 8 bars but it begins playing at 5 3/4 bars.
Some more information, my tempo is set at 117 through Logic which AL recognizes
My Punch in/Punch Out box reads none, 1 bar, none
My host sync box reads 4.0 Beats, 1/4 Beat divisor, sync group mode none, and sync group beats number 8

8 bars @ 117bpm is about 16.4 seconds, which is longer than the default max delay time of 10 seconds. You just need to increase the Max Delay.

I have converted the files to audio and then I play them once as you said through logic and I can see them on the tape for al. How do I record the output with the sound of the tape stop though, this is what I am confused by.

I'm sure there are many ways, but one way that works is to set the output of the track with AL on it to one of Logic's Busses, make a new track that uses that Bus as its input, record enable the second track and hit record.

Still haven't been able to solve this problem..might be due to my explaining of what exactly it is I want to do
I am actually running the entire mix through it, without it looping and applying augustus to the master fader. I just want the tape stop and go effect. However, after the tape starts up again after stopping a delayed signal is coming through after the stop in the form of what myself and engineer would call almost a fast forward type sound about 2.0 bars after.
Because I am not looping I have set the dry to 0.00 and the effect to 1.000, the feedback is also at 0, my tempo is at 116, I have host sync selected and it reads 8.0, 1/4, None and 1 from top to bottom. Saturate is turned off. I basically just want the sound of the tape stopping all tracks and then have it start back up again without a delayed fast forward sound afterwards. Digital Mode is selected but the color above it is yellow during playback.
Also upon hitting the play button in Logic 8, I will n ot hear my sequence until bar 3, when I want it to start right on bar 1. Any more help is appreciated, thanks!

You can't really get the effect you want just using Augustus as an insert effect on the whole mix, while mixing.
One suggestion would be to get the stop and start effects you want (which it sounds like you can) and record them. Then remove Augustus from your mix bus, and drop in the start/stop effect recording on a new audio track at the appropriate place in your sequence.
Alternatively, mix down your track to stereo, do the same (i.e. record the stop/start effect) and then make a stereo edit on your mix to insert the effect.
