I actually just got Pro Tools 8 to add to Live 8 and i am loving it. The new midi features are super and it looks beautifull. I used Cubase 4 prior to this and i must say i much prefer the Pro Tools workflow. Just have to get over a few missing features such as folder tracks and PDC ( which is easily fixed by ATA ). I can understand nobody liking 7 but 8 is really very cool.ReceptorDamage wrote:

And what about trackers like Renoise 2? And Audiomulch?soerja wrote:Before you all start any fight, just keep in mind that people may have different DAW not because one DAW is supperior than another but most likely people have different approach in creating music digitally.
And also, this is just for the curious minds.
Cheers!

I'm surprised here are so few Sonar and FLStudio users. Looks like we are in Cubase-land here.
Also surprised, that there are already so much Live users since it's rather new.
I think this vote should be restarted with all (popular) hosts. No Logic, no Reaper, no Samplitude, no ... ?

Well, Live IS at version 8, so it's been around long enough to garner success from it's target market of live performance, which, when it first came out, was somewhat foreign to the other 'main' DAW programs out in the marketplace at the time.

How could a block in Koreatown suck? But, seriously, my block stretches from sao paolo to san francisco, sydney to siberia -- the long way around.koolkeys wrote:Bah, venture out a little bit! Not really, Reaper will be like a baby in diapers compared to Cubase for quite a few years to come.jensa wrote:Sorry but it's like herpes or vampires (choose the most fitting one).C-note wrote:Cubase 5 - ex-ReaperAetherCoyl wrote:Reaper, ex-cubase.

Hopefully... i was just curious thou, besides I am a newbie on Digital Recording, started about a year ago. I started with FLSTUDIO and have been a devoted user ever since (mainly for limited fund reasons). I do post in FL Forum for technical questions and undoubtedly I get answered. However i want to get second opinion. KVRAUDIO was my foremost choice since it has been a community for various DAW users. I've found extensive info on getting the best out of my DAW setup from this forum which I made benefits from. In FL forum people mainly discussed about FL and tweaking it's related plugins like sytrus and stuff. I've been around many threads just to find people calling FLSTUDIO a toy, FLSTUDIO Sucks and alike posts. In such forums of course it's really hard for FL newbies to get anything out of it but desperation. I've found KVRAUDIO to be a reasonable place for an "out of FL" knowledge base, i've been listening to its users awesome works and been amazed by them. So came the time for me to wonder in what DAW did these guys produce such great works?. Oh yes, I voted in other poll about whether or not sound quality varies among DAWs (i've used music creator 4 and FLSTUDIO (a friend of mine used Cool Edit), and tried alot of reverb vst and stuffs available just to find they somehow produce "different" sound quality of the same song). Regarding to the fact that some Top/Pro Hosts failed to make it to the list i created, it's merely because of MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE or awareness that THERE ARE MANY MORE AMAZING HOSTS OUT THERE. How ever this lack of awareness is due to the fact that I spent more time in making music with my cheap FLSTUDIO and building my guitar/piano/drums skills rather than trying these professional hosts one by one or buy a Macintosh machine just to take a dip into GarageBand or Logic Pro. For these two latter host, i trully beg your pardon and I guess you guys need to wait untill Mac users start their own Poll.koolkeys wrote:Don't be sorry. They will get over it.soerja wrote:Now I think I have to make another post for an apology!

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
