Hi,

after running the trial for some hours I ordered and got my 1.0.11 just yesterday. :)

Since I'm away from my DAW I had some time to went through this entire thread (puhhh... :D ) and I'm glad to say: despite the really good plug - I hope to dig it further really soon - I like the way Andrew is running his Cytomic idea very much. In fact, his obvious enthusiasm, responsiveness and open mindness (I'd like to pick up the 'mono' thingie and especially license handling here) are really appreciated.
I know, that's a minimum requirement for doing a startup some might say. Well, of course, a matter of course's not always a matter of course....
I really hope to hear much more Cytomics in the upcoming future! Just wanted to say that. Because I had some time, because I'm DAW-less .....

:)

Cheers,
LiteOn

Sorry for it being a little hard but it will soon be lots easier for people to buy The Glue and feel all warm and fuzzy that Cytomic is indeed a real company since there will be a proper web page and online shop instead of just sending some random guy your money on paypal even though it ends up being the same thing ;)

I've just had my order for developer hardware processed by digidesign and will receive my hardware in under 5 working days. I will aim for an Rtas beta for everyone to try out by Friday 8th May :)

I have tested with the new Studio One host from Presonus and all is good. I will also have a version of Cubase 4 to test with in the next few days, so it shouldn't be long before The Glue will be out of Beta and officially on sale.

The Rtas version is not looking likely today. I use the Juce framework for the gui and wrapping to vst, au, and rtas. The current version I'm using has bugs in the rtas stuff which is meant to be fixed with the latest version, but the latest version has introduced even more bugs. I'll report back once I have heard back from my numerous bug reports to the Juce forum. So much for the latest version being "...very stable at the moment..."

Thanks, I can't wait.

Currently I use The Glue in Pro Tools via Kore and it works fine but it'll be nice to have a native RTAS version. :)

Hi Andrew,

just curious: any idea when the beta phase will be over and what things are still left open towards the final first release?

I'm working flat out to get the web page and manual done. Gareth Green has done all the presets and they are sounding great, so in the next two weeks tops I will go live, even if it's just with the vst and au versions.

RTAS update:

Well I got the Juce v1.46 to compile and make an rtas plugin, but it's as I feared from reports the forum, the graphics updates are all over the place so you get multiple versions of the plugin interface all drawn at different offsets and flickering wildly. In addition the framework only supports 1-1 and 2-2 processing, so it has no external sidechain support. All of these things mean I shall not be releasing the rtas version just yet. I am in contact with the author of Juce to fix these issues.

Sorry for the delay on this, but it seems if I update to the latest code I get new bugs, or if I stay with the old code I get old bugs, but either way I can't get a decent rtas version from Juce.

I have noticed today, that the web-site can be really navigated.
I'm looking forward to reading the manual and trying the presets on different materials. When choosen (and named or annotated) carefully, compressor presets indeed can be very helpful to depict the range of applications.

I'm also looking forward to seeing/hearing what Cytomic will be coming up next with.

Thanks for replying and thumbs up!

The famous make-or-buy/reuse dilemma. :(

I hope it's getting sorted soon.
