Hiya folks, I'm back!

Cheers for the suggestion olicana .... I've downloaded Tal Elek7ro, not had time to try it out yet, but it looks like a a good one to consider alongside Crystal for the next comp ... or the one after.

I dont know anything about Automat, but its up to you guys really .... certainly nice to have some options which can be both PC and Mac. ... keep them coming! :)

Post

i agree, that's a great idea. not only will our Mac friends be included, but the simpler architecture will help force us to be more creative!

Cheers C23, But it looks like we dont have to wait nor haggle over doing a Tal Elec7ro comp, cos it's already happening!

So all I can say is, once again, best of luck with those OATMEAL tracks, and same goes with those Elec7ro tracks! ..... make music - not custard!

Post

Just over two weeks to go .... my track is coming together very much in fits and starts.

Can we have a show of hands from those participating? ... just so I know whether I should be bumping this thread like crazy ... or letting you all work away in peace?? :)

Post

i'm definitely in, my track is just about ready.

Post

Good stuff guys .... any more? ....still plenty time to get started :)

.... hope to get the basics of my effort laid out tonight .... then I'll see what else I need to squeeze in!

Post

hi tattiemannie, i am a relative newcomer to kvr so hi to all who reside here. i am hoping to submit an effort :) will try and find the time in between uni work. oatmeal is turning out to be my favourite softsynth lately - have programmed quite a few patches in preparation for the challenge so just need to get started on the track proper...

Post

You're welcome do_androids_dream .... you're prob off to a good start actually, I'm still trying to get my head round the features as I work ... like making all my sounds from scratch really .... its a cracking synth tho! ... just hope I can do it justice :hihi:

Post

my entry is posted. here's a copy/paste of the text file for the lazy. ;)

Hey guys, here's the latest ONE SYNTH CHALLENGE installment from your favorite Cyborg, Circuit 23.
In this track, I wanted to first show off some of Oatmeal's sweet textures, and then crank it into
dance mode a bit for the club kiddies (including myself).
There are 10 instances of Oatmeal, all of which I programmed by hand from INIT settings. Also, I
used one instance of ReaComp, an awesome compressor effect that comes with my host, Reaper, but is
also available for free on the interwebs. Zera samples and no other effects besides the ones
that come with Oatmeal. Enjoy!

Cool Circuit.23! ... I'll go give it a listen! .... I suppose it might be a good idea to stick in that hosting site link here ... like for the lazy? :)

... I reckon my track is gonna take me all the way to the wire .... Oatmeal does great sounds, but it doesn't sit with my workflow at all! ... struggling on though! :)

Post

I know this is the Oatmeal OSC thread but a few have mentioned the TAL-Elek7ro OSC thread. just an FYI on that:

The submission start had been change to 04/20/09
and the deadline extended per request to 05/23/09
