Yeah, good idea. e-mail me with the [subscribe] tag in the title ( I'll add that to the blog later ), or you can subscribe to my blog.

Is there any chance this could be modified to bridge 64bit VSTs into 32bit hosts ?
It sounds unlikely, but I guess if you're using IPC there's a chance ?
This would really help for plugins like Kontakt 3.5 (when it arrives) using plenty of sample memory but still running inside Ableton Live, for example.
Anyway, it looks as if it'll solve some of my problems already, so I'll give the beta a shot. Great work.

But it does that too already.
Use the plugin_name.32.dll with your 64bit plugin and your 32bit host.

I'm loving this.
It's superb - handling Omnisphere and Melodyne in 64-bit reaper, and the Sylenth1 and IzotopeRX 64-bit in Ableton Live.
A couple of questions/requests:
1) How do I upgrade my registered version ? I notice the demo is more up-to-date, but it just overrides if I install it. I haven't managed all the testing I want yet, but I'm slowly re-installing my new system. I should be trying it with UAD-2 soon as well
2) Is there any way to keep the jbridge window from actually opening, and put the options along the top of the plugin window instead - maybe just have an invisible window that the host thinks is open ?
3) Would it be possible to have the plugin window be set to 'always on top' ? This would help a lot when I'm wanting to click through to the maximnised host, but still see the plugin as well.
4) Any thoughts to adding to the proxy (or collaborating with some of the others) to maybe add optional oversampling, etc ?
6) Has anyone tried this with Kore yet ? That would tempt me towards buying the software version if it works well here.
As a side note, I noticed when using the Izotope RX demo that they have two versions of their VSTs - a large 32-bit, and then an 884KB version for the 64-bit, which suggests a proxy of some sort. Theirs is a bit neater though, but I wonder if it's a similar stub.
Anyway, absolutely great plugin and hopefully destined for great things !

Hi!
1) Full version updates are emailed to registered users. I send them a while after, to make sure nothing's broken ( I know some folks are using this in their work already, so I need to be careful ). I should be sending the latest full versions this weekend, there's currently an issue than I need to solve before doing so. However, you may request your full version earlier if you want to, just email me.
2) The problem is that some hosts only "tell" the plugin to open the GUI once ( after that they just show or hide its window ). In short, in such hosts, that would cause the program not to open the plugin's gui anymore once you close it the first time. I am aware that I can't please everybody, but I'll see what I can do.
3) This is possible already, just right click the plugin's window in the task bar and enable "always on top". I'll probably transfer this setting next to the other options, it's not too obvious like this.
4) I currently don't have any plans to add extra features to it ( I guess that oversampling would introduce even more overhead on top of the IPC mechanisms, and that would probably cripple performance seriously ). My main concern right know is stability.
6) I read a post here saying that kore worked with it, but you might want to take your own conclusions.

Thanks for the reply.
I've actually just hit my first couple of issues.
Running Omnisphere 32 in Reaper 64.
If I open the reaper fx window (which embeds the proxy window), the plugin window opens, and all is well.
If I close the plugin window and then click 'where's the GUI ?', the plugin window opens, but when I drag it, there are old windows left behind for a few seconds and glitches in the audio.
If I then close the fx window, and re-open, it's back to normal - basically, it seems to break when I click the where button, and can slow the repaint down quite a bit (but with no noticable CPU usage).

That may have to do with a stability enhancement I've introduced, no audio processing can be done while the gui is being opened or closed ( it crashes some plugins ), I'm afraid that issue is part of the price to pay for the increased stability.

Well, the audio bit I don't mind so much (Reaper has a similar option). It's the fact that after using the gui button, the plugin window leaves trails everywhere and is much much slower. If I never touch the gui button it works fine.umd wrote:That may have to do with a stability enhancement I've introduced, no audio processing can be done while the gui is being opened or closed ( it crashes some plugins ), I'm afraid that issue is part of the price to pay for the increased stability.
Not a showstopper, but definitely something wrong there.
A couple of other things:
Each time the plugin window is opened, it grows bigger by a scrollbar's width horizontally and vertically.
Also, if I keep the mouse pressed on the plugin window, I get a "not responding" message in the titlebar which goes when I release the mouse. This only seems to happen in Omnisphere and not Melodyne but Omnisphere also makes the proxy window say 'the plugin has crashed' quite a lot.

I'll take a look. Do you know of any plugin that has a demo available that also exhibits this behaviour?"Well, the audio bit I don't mind so much (Reaper has a similar option). It's the fact that after using the gui button, the plugin window leaves trails everywhere and is much much slower. If I never touch the gui button it works fine."
I am seing this too, it seems to happen with some plugins only."Each time the plugin window is opened, it grows bigger by a scrollbar's width horizontally and vertically. "
This will be solved in the next version, I hope."This only seems to happen in Omnisphere and not Melodyne but Omnisphere also makes the proxy window say 'the plugin has crashed' quite a lot."

The chance of that happening is equal to the chance of somebody offering me a shiny new macbook pro.
