yesss. please point me the the place, cz i downloaded something that saidosiris wrote:You know you just have to watch these things Sandboxie is great to run things you're unsure of. Many years ago, I downloaded something that claimed it was an Access Virus emulation. It was a regular .dll and I was stoked to try it. I put it in my VST instrument folder and when I tried to pull it up, just a skinless thing that made no noise came up. I then discovered that this innocent looking .dll somehow began deleting all my other instrument .dll's slowly and I couldn't stop it, even after deleting it.
Trust me - Sandboxie. Best free app ever!
sandbox, and had some jacked-up robot on it, but..it didnt do much but
present lots of confusion, and i couldnt uninstall it properly either,
which is never popular w/me. mind you that was not a very satisfactory
installation either..
thank you folks, zee data hass bin retrivved, hehehe. still one machine down,
mind, but i've got a working file again, phew.
to anyone interested in O/S( and i shall give ubuntu a go now, as a failsafe
OS, and to try out a few linux apps )bizness, i've been trying a custom
windows called TinyXP, which someone savvy made with NLite, a freeware for
customizing windows..anyway, this one is cut down to a 202mb installer, and
the whole thing is up in under 20 minutes, taking around 140mb disk space...
and, lol, doesnt need authorising, or 'ought..yep. BBut..it's missing loads
of stuff, obviously, including some security ( ... ). ( pertinently, it stopped remebering file view settings, eg: sys+hidden file display, etc.)other than that, runs pretty well, except it doesn't remember last files and stuff like that. but includes service pack stuff, loads. you should be able to find a rar for it out there if you wanna try it out, but ultimately, it wont serve you well.
NLite might be worth checking out though, if it can customize it to that extent and still give a working version. someone with the expertise could
produce a dedicated audio lightweight windows...
nuff all that. with any luck should get it finished later..

i asked ages ago to the dev if win version would have been available in a X future, but i guess silence right after means "no bloody way"...
the recent freeware release of all his sw actually makes me reinforce the thesis..
