I really like Elek7ro. It became my "to-go" bass and lead synth next to Triangle, Mini-Mogue VA and Discovery.
Great job!

stay tuned

You know... i dissed it at first... But then I began playing with it... And it has a certain funk.. The extra envelope and being able to select pan as a destination for the LFOs was great for leads... Like it lots now!
I am not a robot. You are a robot.

It's a super nice synth, but I find the cutoff knob to be "steppy" and you really hear that when the resonance is turned up all the way. You know what I mean? Like it's clicking into discrete notches as you turn it. That happens with the mouse or with midi control.

Just to confirm how great Elek7ro is: I took it to the stage last weekend and Elek7ro did a great job by giving me the fattest bass lines I ever had in my live set.
Just listen for yourself: http://soundcloud.com/hienergy/hienergy ... 2009-04-25

In this performance there are two basslines : A 303 style one, done with Phoscyon and the main bass, done with Elek7ro. I was overwhelmed by the sound of Elek7ro.

Have a listen to that sequence ending with a closing filter sweep at around 56:30 to 57:30 just before the 303 comes in again. Just an impressive miracle of a big and creamy bass sound.

Thank you, TAL!

I'm keen to hear it. But I can't. How about you put it on youtube. No playback delays, no need to wait for it to buffer up, no need to download whatsoever. And I love this synth as well.

As I wanted to make the whole performance of approx. two hours available, I chose Soundcloud. There's no length limit for a single track.
IIRC Youtube imposes a limit of 10 mins per document.

Maybe I'll put the file on Stickam or Virb. They're also Flash based.
Not yet sure on this.

Elek7ro just caused a crash in Live 8. I was working on presets, tweaking a new sound, turning the Noise knob left & right. Suddenly with a loud crackling noise, the main output's left channel went silent. (scared the shit out of me). Live reported a serious error and shut down.

Back on the desktop i could play MP3's etc just fine. Live restarted and was functioning fine also.

I only had one channel with Elec7ro in my project btw. Nothing else.

I'd really like to use this synth more often but it's crashing my host too frequently to be reliable in projects.

Will you be able to update Elek7ro soon devs?

Post

Only had it crash live 8 on me few times but not like that. And it was back in it's early version. It scares the hell out of bidule though when I have like six of them running

Dev, any word on an update? Pleassssssssse

Or should i get used to hanging notes when moving modwheel/pitchbend and crashing host effects? ;)

This is a strange bug!
When i use the modwheel playing Elek7ro, one midi note stays 'stuck' and it will play endlessly.
Having the same issue here....at first I thought it was Bidule, but I'm guessing thats not what your using so it must be a bug? However I did get some strange and usable sounds when that happened
Bump. This really needs fixing.

It would be nice if bug reporters could be bothered to include their system particulars. You know, like PC or Mac, and OS version?

If it were easy, anybody could do it!
