This might have been mentioned somewhere, but any chance of seeing bootsie stuff in 64-bit versions?

TesslaPRO looks to be a ballbreaker. Excellent.

Very interesting. With Kingston we've come to the same conclusion, transient's is where it's at. While measuring the frequency response of his custom SSL compressor, we didn't see any real change in the plot but we heard clear differences when changing components. Sometimes it would sound more muddy, or clear.. just like somebody had been tweaking an EQ, even though there was NO CHANGE in the frequency response plot. So, the conclusion is, it's all in the transient.

I'm very interested in hearing the new Tessla Pro and what it can do. The only thing I'm a bit worried about is the 4 times oversampling. I'm not sure why but lately I've been a bit allergic towards any oversampling. Most processors sound more "relaxed" and natural with oversampling turned off. Again, this is probably due to the transient. Doesn't it slightly change when one does sample rate conversion, first up, then down again? Surely the original transient does not stay the same when you add extra samples and then reduce them again?

I have not done any thorough A/B tests so this might all be placebo (or badly implemented up/down sampling in the effects I've tried).

You'd better measure step response or impulse response.
Frequency graphs are kinda slowpokey slow)))

The more effect comes from the pre-ringing of LP filters which are commonly used and thats definately affecting the transient and no placebo. In TesslaPRO a minimum phase filter is used instead and the ringing is avoided but some phase and ripple in the passband is introduced. It's always a tradeoff.

Yes that's true. I've used Christian Budde's VST plugin analyzer with it's asio output and it seems to measure the frequency response with a step tone/impulse so it is still kind of a mystery to me how we could hear so apparent changes in the frequency response while not seeing any change.
