Next GB suggestion: Something containing "TRackS Singles"? What about that?

This would be interesting for a lot of people I guess. Or am I wrong?

It would interest me :)

I have it, but think it would be very interesting and it is a quality set of products so I'm all for others getting them cheaper. I posted a video comparing T-Racks 3, UAD, and URS plugs in the T-Racks singles thread in another subforum here, worth checking out as there are a lot of folks that watch and listen to the video and realize that T-Racks represents. UAD and URS are no slouches, so it is no small feat.

I LOVE the idea. Unfortunately it might not be able to happen. Group Buys with other companies products are VERY sensitive and it's all ok if OUR customers don't complain. OR if they would only go to esoundz first to solve problems and not bog down the support of the other company... that might help too. But if people go to that company and want this and that (especially to be reselling and complaining about policies for reselling, or asking to transfer their whole account etc.) well... it CAN result in the take away of our privilege to do a group buy with their products! That's a shame. However, that's up to you guys and we're not upset or anything... you gotta do what ya gotta do and that's not up to us, it's up to YOU and of course it's your right to complain if you WANT to. However, I try my best to communicate these things and let you know the results of it if you're a GB customer and if I'm ignored or misunderstood then sometimes this is what we have to accept... that we can't always offer you products from other companies if it becomes a hassle for that company or it's somehow connected with negativity or bad publicity on the forum. We're supposed to be doing something BENEFICIAL for them you see.

A lot of times when I say "guys, PLEASE don't complain about IK's reselling policies" (ehem, particularly if I know you're an esoundz customer or GB customer) this is the kind of reason why. It gets traced back to US (whether you realize that or not) and maybe we look partially to blame somehow... I know that's not necessarily true or even logical but we ARE attached to you guys when you buy from us (if a company looks into and says "Who did they buy this from? Oh a group buy? Hmmmm.") If there's any QUESTION of whether it is worth it for a company to do a group buy with us then that puts it at risk. For example, we were even going to do a group buy with TR singles and then someone complained that we do "too many group buys on IK products"... so bye bye group buys on IK products! See? Hopefully that will change and we can do them again but if our own customers complain on here about it you can pretty much forget it... it's that sensitive and maybe people can start taking that into consideration. But, understand it isn't us punishing you, but it is us getting slightly punished from other companies (not really punished but losing certain privileges to be able to do things like GB's with their products unless we can prove it IS worth it for them! That's what I am talking about.)

Anyway, while I don't think there will be a GB on TR Singles any time soon, luckily they are a screaming deal at $99 each AND we ARE going to be selling them on www.esoundz.com via a multi-box that IK is offering through dealers. That should be good enough anyway (not EVERYTHING has to be a group buy to be a deal with great value).

Hey, we do our BEST to bring great group buys and other promos to you. We had a killer classic studio drum and bass promo that no one seemed to be interested in either this month. Oh well... it burns the opportunity to do more (at least with other companies besides our own stuff which we'll always be able to do). I have to make commitments to be able to do these things and we really DO need your support to continue. It's been good though in the past. Just recently it's gotten more tricky. With people's understanding and cooperation though it can improve. That's not up to me though. You all set the stage for what we can get away with or not. We walk a fine line but we'll take that risk if you guys are supportive and into it!

Actually, I have to disagree with you there on one point - the steal is buying the T-Racks Deluxe Crossgrade if you can - who doesn't have and IK product already??? hehe (sign up for an esoundz account or if you already have one see what you get for being Gold or Platinum if you've made that level). For the price of the three "boutique" singles you get everything. AND all as singles too.

What is that about the "multi-box"?

Can they (the singles) be purchased via download through esoundz? I couldn't find them so far.

Hmmm ... i'll probably get a fairchild sometime this year ... either UAD or IK, I don't care much but I've got to do a shootout sometime soon(ish).

You have a great point. It's only when you want a few things a la carte that these singles and a la carte kits are a nice price on their own. But the bundles are always a better deal when you want it all... and who doesn't want it all????

Completely off-topic but: Have you got plans to transfer what you did for IK to the IP?

I mean things such as trons, moogs, collection of rare keyboard sounds ...

Yes, that and all of the best sounds we've released in Reason and everything. Those are part of the Sonic Reality sample archive. Also the Miroslav stuff. We bought Miroslav Vitous out of his orchestra library years ago... including a bunch of material that still has never been released. All of that and more will be in Infinite Player format this year.

Not really a true shootout (or at least not an extensive one) but the T-Racks plugs do well next to UAD and URS in this video: - some of the guys at GearSlutz say they prefer the T-Racks sounds in it and most admit they do VERY well in this comparison.

Well, I guess you are right and one could just want that sweet opto. Or maybe the Fairchild. Hmmm, that Pultec does realllly well against the others in the video posted above. Oh wait, I *do* want them all. Never mind.

When it comes to a shootout between the UAD and T-Racks Fairchild, I definitely prefer the T-Racks version. That one is a lot closer in doing what the UAD 33609 does in that it's a very fat sounding and weighty compressor (probably the saturation characteristics). The UAD version is light and airy by comparison.

First I think those who record at home, TRacks3 Deluxe is a must have for any serious recordist. With your membership status it's not a large sum of money when you think about what you would pay for a decent outboard compressor/ preamp. Also you are entitled to the singles at no charge is basically a group buy alone when you factor in the price is incredibly cheap..

That said, for the next group buy I wouldn't mind getting sounds like some good pedal steel guitars and other steel stringed instruments. I have enough drums for 5 lifetimes :) and Vintage synths. The IP player is very interesting and from my limited experience with it I think this is going to be a big winner with what you'll be able to do for only one person. So if we could have a group buy based on steel stringed instruments for the IP player. I would be very interested...
