When using SampleTank 2.5 L in FL Studio, the interface takes between 1-2 minutes to load each time the VST is started. Anyone else have the same problem, and/or know a solution?

Once it loads (or start it in standalone), click the "Prefs" button and choose "Off" for the "Relist on startup" option.

Even when that's done, it still takes a while to load 1st time. This is a known issue + unlikely to be fixed.

[mod edit] for me ST is a v.gd tool, that has its +s & -s.

worked fine for me in FL Studio. If you unchecked relist on startup it should work fine. Like I said no problems here

U probably have a much faster computer &/or a smaller library. For every body else, it does take a while to load 1st time. I've read here the load time varies from 20-ish secs to minutes, all in this forum.

I have a mediocre computer and huge library (stay back, ladies! ;) ) and unchecking that indeed did help load times. Was this submitted to IK and stated as a known issue that won't likely be fixed? Somehow I doubt that.

Also, please note that this is Sonic Reality's company forum, they are a top IK dealer and Squids and mods be watching to make sure this doesn't end up in IK-slamming. Not appropriate for this subforum, a dealer should never be the forum/enabler for slamming products they sell. Thanks for understanding.

For me, ST2XL takes about 45 seconds to load if it's not relisting, and about five minutes if it is rebuilding the database.

This is on a laptop with 3GB memory, 1.67ghz Centrino Duo processor, and ST2XL, SS2, Philharmonik (full, not CE), and SampleMoog installed on the internal drive, as well as a number of other ST1- and ST2-formatted sample sets.

I'm not a gigging musician, so it's not too much of a bother most times.

Sorry if my previous post seemed to bash ST a little hard, it's just that with the long load time (even with "relist on startup" off) everytime I pulled up a project that used it I'd say to myself, "SampleTANK- aptly named."

It's got some good stuff amongst its library, but a while back, when considering upgrading to the XL version, I decided to simply focus on using Kontakt instead for my sample based stuff, the long startup being amongst the reasons.

I find all the powered by Sampletank stuff sluggish compared to other VSTis...not to mention I always get hung notes now and then (had them on two totally different systems)..BUT I love their sound quality so much I use them constantly...

I seem to remember squids saying something about upgrades to Sampletank in the works, The Sampletank engine certainly could do with them... I'm looking forward to it and I hope they can increase loading times and general performance..

Even w/o relist it takes quite awhile, maybe 20 seconds or so, on a powerful quadcore computer.

A much better post. Thanks 1-2.

So many plugins, so little time...

Each time I add a new soundset, Sampletank takes a little bit longer to load up (I don't use all the different interfaces for SampleMoog, SS2, etc.), especially after re-starting the computer and FL. Its a little annoying, but I've gotten used to it, and the delay is really not enough to break my stride when composing.

I do the best with what I've got :) Actually, my mediocre computer works very well for my workflow that's why I still use it. The mobility advantage is killer, and simply adding a $50 NanoKey allows me to knock out ideas quickly. Luckily SampleTank doesn't take too long for my workflow since I usually fire it up when sketching ideas (two of my most-used Cubase templates are SampleTank stereo out and multiout.
