The Terms and Conditions state that it's not compatible with any other sampler except Kontakt, but I am curious if this is just a disclaimer or if Direct Wave will actually open it and work? Anyone tried it in Direct Wave inside of FLS?

Hi Shane,

The last time we checked Direct Wave, it couldn't handle Kontakt scripting as this library makes use of.

We can only support Native formats.

Take Care,
Steph, LyricalDistortion.com

Regarding the scripting errors and blank main menu.
So far it seems to be just affecting a few people using Logic
(it's hard to distinguish user names from real names, so I'm not sure how many)
Hopefully, I hear back from him soon, he's usually fast on fixing stuff.
Hi Aaron,

I'm getting the script errors and I'm using Sonar 7 on Windows XP. I get the errors in both the plugin and the standalone version.

Cheers,
Nigel

OK, so we can rule out it's a Logic thing then.
Which Kontakt are you using, and is the scripting main page blank of buttons with no sounds?

Hi,

I'm using 2.2.4.001 and yes, I get the blank main page.

Nigel,

You wouldn't happen to be running sample rate at 48 or higher would you?

I just finally reproduced it at 48. When I went to 44.1 it ran fine.

Someone else handled the scripting, so the best I can do is keep passing on info to him. Seems like an odd bug if this is such the case.

Best regards,
Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Yes, I run at 48 for demoing and 96 for production. It worked at 44.1 so the sample rate seems to be the issue.

Thanks for confirming!

The solution is always easier to achieve when the source of the problem is known.

Me too.

Switching from 48 to 44.1 worked using Kontakt 3 plug in (haven't yet tried standalone). (DP6, MacBook 2 GHz C2D, OS 10.4.11). The samples and the KSP interface now seem to work as they should, they did not when running at 48 KHz.

So, this is the bug/problem = The KSP script won't run properly in 48 KHz.

This must be fixed so that it runs ok in 48 like it does in 44.1. I use 48 almost exclusively.

Good to see the problem is now pegged. So it should be fixed now that it has been identified.

Congrats on nailing it -- I never would have thought of trying that as part of trouble shooting here, but I guess KSP scripts can be pegged to the sample rate somehow. This should hopefully be pretty easy to fix with a couple of lines of code in the script.

Looking forward to this getting fixed and an update being released very soon. It mars an otherwise very good bass sample set.

Had a go with this set last night. Great sounding and I really like the scripting\how the instrument performs.

Thanks very much for the sweet deal and the great instrument. See you in 2 weeks!

A great addition to any collection!
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

........ yes, once the 48 KHz KSP Script bug is fixed

Post

I just received the update (clicking fixed) and I can confirm that in 44.1 kHz the scripting works OK and at 48 kHz it does not work. This was with Kontakt 3.0.2.004 in Cubase SX3 with Windows XP/Pro/SP3.

The bass sounds nice and plays very well, but not working at 48 kHz is a serious shortcoming for me and I am anxiously awaiting the bug-fix. I'm sure that you'll come through with a solution :-)
