Mmm, Kore won't load fxb files which is how Nexus handles it's sounds and Omnisphere has it's own format - I'd accepted that that aspect of Kore was a no-go for me.

The applying of FX to other VST I like, very cool.

But really, it's the Koresounds I'm after, they really compliment Nexus and Omni.
The inability to even set legato and polyphony means I'll be constantly having to piss around switching synths, etc, seems to run counter to the whole "Kore makes everything easier" philososphy.

The patch in Best of Absynth's transposed up an octave. Use the transpose in the actual and transpose up an octave- it'll sound the same.
koolkeys wrote:All I know is that in the full Kore Software, if you have the NI plugin that the preset uses, it opens it in the actual VST plugin instead of using it's own engine.
Not quite true. Kore still uses the internal engine; the difference is that you can open the GUI if you have the full version.
Kore does obviously have the engines for all the NI synths inside, but maybe they aren't exactly the same for some reason?
Ah- no, it doesn't. There's no Pro-53 engine, for example.
I wonder if the Kore Player is using an older engine or something?
Nope. Read my explanation why.

Don't you mean .fxp? Kore will import .fxbs- that's what the import plugin presets function's for. It won't import things in .fxp form unless you load them individually and save them.

Yup, meant .fxp. Importing however many thousands of Nexus presets individually just isn't a runner for me; ditto buying Massive/FM8/Absynth just to change the polyphony/legato setting.

Actually, along with the installation of Kore 2/Kore Player, I noticed that it also installed the DLL's of FM8, Massive, etc. You can probably check them out in Program Files/Native Instruments folder. They can actually be called up inside a host (but not functional or functional as demo, I don't quite remember). So I guess Kore uses the "actual" engines for those synths.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

They don't show up in my hosts (Live, PT) so while yes, Kore uses the engines of those synths, you can't alter the polyphony (which sucks for some of the pads esp) or legato/pitch bend settings making the very cool basses/leads somewhat redundant for me in relation to the price.
I thought the MIDI transformer might help but no, it's only for transposing/velocity settings.
What were they thinking?

ew I took this into consideration already. To me they sound different.

I have a strange feeling that Kore 2 (software) will be included in Komplete 6 this also makes me want to hold off buying it.

I looked again- there's some more differences in the programming.

The top one's the original Absynth patch, and the bottom's the .ksd in Best of Absynth.
Notice the different macro assignments, etc.

ok cool, thanks for clearing that up. At least now I know they both CAN sound the exact same. I was a little worried that KORE didn't sound as good for some reason.

I didn't understand it at first, either. But, I ended up buying a copy. After having used it for a year now, I don't what I'd do without it. It's so freaking fun. If you do sound design, it's amazing to be able to work on sounds in KORE, and then pull them in songs later (you already have all your sounds ready to go through).

I spend more time in KORE now than I do in a sequencer.

Add Image-Line Edison into KORE and it's amazing!

I rarely have fun programming sounds. Once in a while I enjoy it.

Seriously I would assume it has got to be coming soon. Hasn't it been more than two years since Komplete 5 came out? Although it does seem like hey have been busy with other stuff. I really hope they do something more with Pro 53, I have a feeling if they don't they will discontinue it. Absynth and FM 8 were relatively recent so I guess we will see a Reaktor 6 soon.

I have the free version. I think that KORE 2 would be a killer piece! Especially with the hardware controller.
