ew, thanks for clearing those things up. I wasn't exactly sure on the specifics, but that was how it was explained to me. So maybe I misunderstood.

And when I said "all" NI synths, I meant all the synths that have patches represented inside. Another bad wording on my part.

But I'm glad you came along to help, because I'm still coming to grips with Kore myself, so I obviously know far less than you do about it!

I just noticed NI is having a sale on Kore 2, you get the Kore Electronic Experience free if you register it right now.

Which is a fantastic deal. I don't have that bundle(my only Kore expansion is Reaktor Spark). But it has a ton of sounds for free, can't beat that really.

i already bought Elektronic Experience myself so doesn't do anything for me. I kind of got carried away buying expansion a while back :hihi: I got lots of them. But yeah good deal if you don't have it for sure.

That was the way it originally worked; true. And, that's the way others (including myself) have described it, mostly to make it easier to grok.

However, it's not true anymore. If you open one of the Kontakt .ksds in Kore for example, you'll notice that in your case they'll use the 3.0.2 plugin, and not the 3.5 PB. Open up a Guitar Rig .ksd; at the present, if you click on the logo to bring up the about box, you'll see it uses the 3.1.1 version, and not the 3.2.1 that's the current version. Usually, if you just open the plugin from the plugin menu, you'll get the latest version, but that's not foolproof either.

While with most of the plugins this isn't an issue (the patches will be read anyways), with Reaktor it can become a real problem. There's been a couple times where Reaktor versions have been out of sync, and I've had to post warnings in both the Kore and Reaktor forums advising people about poteential problems.

The upcoming Kore update (as announced on the forum today) brings updated versions of a few plugins such as Kontakt and GR. It also finally makes the Kore controller usable as a generic MIDI controller using the same idea as behind Maschine's dual controller capabilities.

So what about the imported presets from the factory banks of NI synths like Absynth? As in, they didn't come with Kore or a Kore Soundpack? Do those use the Kore engine or the actual plugin?

Absynth uses .ksds by default. Therefore, they'll use the internal engine.

Kidding aside, it's great.

I LOVE ( ) KORE 2. Sorry for yelling.

Kore 2 + Zebra + Uhbik/SoundToys = :hyper: <- thats me.

It is simply my favorite way to approach sound design these days. Since I use all my own sounds it's really nice to have a single place to browse through. I can't say enough good things about Kore.

Kore is just a very usefull tool, and I use it all the time.

thanks...has anyone encountered many bugs or things not going right? I ask because I was reading many problems on the NI forum and it is scaring me off a bit.

the sw interface & workflow are nice, as are the sounds, but it has rubbish multi-core support, like kontakt, at low latencies (altho this wasn't using the k2 hw unit) [/€0.02]

You aren't going to see people posting positive experiences in the forums for the most part- they aren't going to be there unless they're having problems, right? And, you'll find a lot of the issues on the forum are user error for the most part.

Kore doesn't have multicore support, period.
