I'm interested in getting xfadelooper3, but Live 6.0.10 just gives a notice saying, it can not locate au. I can see it in the folder section, but it will not allow it to be dragged to the midi channel.
I'm on a Mac OSX 10.3.9 G4 powerbook1.33mhz.
The xfadelooper v.1 works fine. The xfade v.2 crashes Live on quit, but works during the session. I need v.3 to save the aif file which the other 2 cannot do. I think Xfadelooper works better, and is easier to use than Live's Simpler sampler. That's why I want to get it, if I can get it to work. I get smoother sample loops faster using xfadelooper than with Live's unit.
Thanks for any help.
Mike :)

Which version exactly of Crossfade Loop Synth are you using? (Latest is v3.1.0.)

It's possible that it just isn't compatible with OS X 10.3.9 PPC anymore. While I do my best to keep things compatible, I just don't have a system that old to test with myself, so it's hard to know.

Do you have any other hosts (e.g. Garage Band) to test with? I'd be interested to know if this problem is limited to Live.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I do have Garageband2. The CrossFadeLooper does not even show up under the generators list. I'm getting a new Mac sometime soon, so I'll probably get it then.
Does version3.1.0 save an aif sample with the loop information stored with it?
I wanted to create multisamples using Vsamp, but Vsamp has no looping feature, unless the loop info is already stored on the sample itself.
Thanks.

You might try opening a terminal and typing

auval -v aumf XFls ExSl

and

auval -v aumu XFls ExSl

and seeing what you get.

The AIF stored by xfadelooper does not contain loop information. It wouldn't be very meaningful, as no other playback device would loop in the same way (i.e. with the crossfade). If you want to prepare multisamples for VSamp you're probably better off with an actual standalone audio editing tool (I'm sure KVR has a list of them somewhere).
