Reason and Record? I always thought that the Props had painted themselves into a corner by saying that they would NEVER implement audio in Reason, and now it seems they might have changed their minds. Could it be they are trying not to lose face? Cos if it is a recorder/audio super editor then it feels a little late especially if its not going to be an integral part of Reason IMHO. Just a thought. K

it's not implemented IN Reason, so probably it's an open environment, a new aprroach to hosts or recording software, maintaining a corridor between Propellerhead Products and other apps

What they said was that they were never going to implement audio recording *in Reason*, which still holds true. For some reason people have taken this to mean that they're not touching audio recording with a 10 ft pole, but that was never the case, it's just that people were asking the wrong question all along.

Well, it's called Record, not ReMangle...

That's a very good point! :tu:

Lol.

Yeah the props are trying to get to the table after all these years with their track record of releasing everything too late. What on earth were they thinking when they released Recycle into that already crowded 'beat slicing' market and 'another' 303 software clone in Rebirth. Don't even get me started on that whole 'self contained studio' concept that they totally fell flat on the faces with....Reason - ha, it'll never become popular.

Seriously, do people really think that the Propellerheads are going to release a fancy skinned version of something like Microsofts 'sound recorder' and make such a fuss about doing so? Whether you use their software or not, you should at least show a bit of respect for them and at least wait until you know exactly what it does before lambasting them as failures.
No, that Glitch is meant to be there.....

I'm amazed over how people can get so much out of a single word and next to zero information. Why are people on this forum so negative to this company anyways? They are one of the absolute pioneers of audio software and have never "sold out", but stuck to their own vision and concepts. I think they should get all the respect they deserve.

A lot of people are unaware that you can use audio input via Reason and record Via Reson as well. One only need look into this Software and spend maybe two seconds using their brains to figure out how it can be done....I do it all the time, so I can use reasons, flexible audio FX........

on a side note, I love how reason and the props have closed reason in! Its the most stable of all audio applications in the F'n world! When I need to do "What ever" I can count on reason, and reason never screws me!

Because KVR is the epitome of VST fandom and Propellerhead Software are the kings of VST support refusal. How could they not be a nuisance? :hihi:

I remember hearing about hammer a couple of years back but totally forgot about it..
How is it then? For recording vocals and guitar and such?..Is it as stable as Reason itself?..

Meh. I really don't have anything further than that.

They are gonna introduce a new reason device called ' tuh MIc ' in the shape of a huge oversized microphone ( cables included and all ) . Everything that is played back in reason will be pipelined to the new 'Record ' program ..that way Reason users will have the unique oppurtunity to see an actual ' WAVEFORM ' of their compositions .

Well, not necessarily fans so much as core constituents. kvraudio.com was, after all, initially called kvr-vst.com (and the current remit 'supporting Open Standard Audio Plugins' still explicitly covers this), so there's a very large established base of people who base their music production around VST plugins present on the forums here, and people decrying VST plugins in favour of other devices are likely to experience at least a smidgen of opprobrium. Not that there's any evidence of Propellerheads, or even anything but the lunatic fringe of fans doing such a thing, but the presence of effects to which external audio (say, from, VSTis) can not be directly routed might indeed be interpreted as a snub, rather than a design choice, which seems a much likelier but more prosaic reality.

Propellerheads stuff is always of interest to me (although I'm certainly not any more of a fan of it than VST stuff) so I look forward to more details with much anticipation!
