Yup. And that isn't the half of it.

I wonder does this mean that you will need to own both Reason and Record??..I'm guessing so..

That's really a good question.
Or RECORD is made with all that comes with REASON, or it's just a "Wrapper" to use with it ???

Now you really make me start to thinking about it.

Yes. It's like Photoshop and Illustrator, or Word and Excel. Separate products that integrate when installed on the same machine. Probably - and this is just speculation - there will be a bundle á la Adobe Creative Suite or MS Office at some point, seeing as a lot of people will want both.

The impression I got after watching the video is that its some kind of Sequel/Garageband contender. I'm excited to see how it interacts with Reason, hopefully not via normal Rewire. Reason rewired into Record which are then rewired into prefered host would be a big mess with projectfiles all over the place.
I could just wait and see, but patience is not a virtue of mine :)

No because I'm pretty sure it won't have the routing possibilities that Reason has. So this will be like a master sequencer and then you can probably open up your custom combis within Record. I'm pretty sure this is the case as people over at Props forum are saying that this fullfills everything they wanted with Reason.

good question, but if it has no instruments, that would mean you're only paying for an alternative to rewire, right?... hmmm...

I would like to hear that Record is an all-in-one program, integrating the Reason system with the new functions and that the Props would continue to sell Reason as a separate product for those who don't care about Audio recording...
Having said that I don't think that will be the case considering the name IS Record...
It pretty much seems to be just a separate program like ReCycle...but who knows, they might surprise us..

I would seriously think of dropping Cubase if I could have a fully functioning DAW that had the stability and CPU usage of Reason.. I'm always trying to cut down on my VST count anyway as I like a tight, slim set-up..

i would too, but Record would need newer effects.

It's OK for me to have both Record and Reason but it'd be a serious drag if I have to launch both programs each time I open a project and have to save two project files when exiting.

Nah... one launch, single document. Just like sequencer data for VST plugins is contained in your DAW's documents.

And okay, how about Vsti plugins? Or will that take yet another 6 years?

IS RECYCLE able to be now used within this DAW? These are the things I'm interested in..

In what way?

If you want to play REX files you use Dr. REX, if you want to record audio you record it. ReCycle remains a standalone product.

So you won't be able to record/import audio and slice it (like Recycle) and rearrange it within Record or send it to Dr.Rex ?
