Sorry but that's kind of a non-leaked area... you can surf for possible additional leaked tidbits that surfaced in the last few hours or you can wait 18 hours for official info straight from the horse's mouth.

I'd recommend the latter. There's a lot of weird telephone game distortion going on at the mo. It was bound to happen in the 36 hour window between the producer's conference and Monday 12:00 CET, but... yeah.

Thanks, that's good enough for me, and I gladly leave the uncovering of this mystery to the folks themselves and leave this thread alone  Most questions have already been answered anyway.

No Vst/Vsti support? That's completely useless to me then. Of course I never liked the way Reason's modules sounded vs. whats really out there in terms of competition.. eg: Thor vs. Sylenth,Vanguard,Omnisphere,etc..I'm more disappointed in Props, they are truly a one dimensional company now in my book, geared toward noobie's,and I don't care about their whole stabilty comment's that's b.s. Cubase 5 is crash free for me and I totally take advantage of vst/vsti's!

Wow it can record audio! Nice achievement in 2009

seems, you're advanced :-o

I'm leaving this thread alone, I think it was just the "wow" video that made me feel particularly vile towards Propellerheads. :hihi: If it's just an audio add-on to Reason I'm not going to get it anyway, since I'm not a Reason user. For those that wished for this kind of functionality, good for you! :D

Post

This may change - but i'm getting decidedly less excited about this as compared with how I was feeling at the start of the thread. Will see what happens when this is released. I could never really get the right sound I wanted (easilY) out of reason (given my lack of programming skills) - much more luck with other software. Will probably save up for Max4Live (should go well with my monome)

 I'm just convinced that there is a better alternative for my workflow. And anyone who thinks this app is a perfect move for them, then by all means.I already have ssl emulations via uad+waves, and I personally think those will sound better even without hearing record. The past products from these guys plays into my thought process on that.

"Props have thought this through very carefully and come up with a dongle solution that isn't annoying or intrusive at all. It's nothing like you're used to from Cubase or other audio apps with traditional dongle protection."
:o :-o  ... :(

The Cubase dongle is a small usb key attached to my computer that glows a bit. It seems benign enough, but if I wish to I can install Cubase on a bunch of other computers, or upgrade my laptop without needing to re-register.

It hasn't proved to be either "annoying" or "intrusive". It's just a USB key thing.

How will the Propellerhead Dongle be so different that it's "nothing like" this? :?

Surely a dongle is a dongle, plain and simple...? :?

Well, their dongle has a twist.

That's what she said.

Interesting.... cheers.

As a Reason user and sometime-Propellerhead-fan, I'm certainly interested in this as an add-on product that might keep me using and enjoying Reason itself (I'm at a stage where I also own Cubase 5 and Live 7 Studio, so was considering "retiring" Reason...).

The idea of another dongle on my laptop could be the deal-breaker though. We'll see.

Well I have to say I am extremely let down and wonder how much money Propellerheads paid those [clowns] people for their reactions to "Record". Have these people ever seen a DAW before?

The fact that Record is nothing more than a glorified version of Garageband without the external plug-in features makes this product one of the lamest releases of the year. Even Steinberg's pathetic Sequel could give Record a run for it's money.

Compared to the current industry leader: Logic 8, "Record" fails miserably in most areas.
