You then have to support this nightmare, where the code is out of your control. This isn't the case if you write only slaves.

Besides, they're already going to be inundated with people complaining that it makes their microphones sound rubbish, it distorts or is too quiet, it makes their sound buzz and it uses the wrong panning law.
Audio is far more trouble than ReWire
